ive had a whistler and a cobra. the whistler was the best overall. . it detected police radar the best. but laser was weak. i never had a ticket with it. never.

the cobra, $100 dollars from target. sucks compared tro whistler. it detects but flases all the time. even in the middle of farmlands. . . i put it in my buddy's car for a road trip and it didnt detect laser (1 ticket), late for Ka radar (puled over, blamed on reverse indiglo guages, got out) and late for K (ticket)next one will be a whistler or a NICE K40 integrated with a laser defuser. Check em out @ http://www.k40.commy other buddy uses a valentine one in his BMW 5, and swears by it. eh, im gonna try k40.com

I've always heard that Escorts are the best if you wanna spend like $300.

I have a Cobra that I got for $100, works alright, haven't gotten a ticket yet.

the gauge faces sometimes bubble or otherwise impede on needle movement. the hick cop was like (remember coastal georgia farmland) "uh huh, when you start messin with dem guages, itll mess up da caliber-a-tion on em. You boys're gonna hafta go ta the nearest mazda dealership ta havem caliber-ated. you boys slow down now, ya hear?" (72 in a 45)

Just get a radar jammer, they are legal in most states (as long as you get a passive jammer). http://www.radarjammers.com has some good stuff. The only good jammers I have found are made by Rocky Mountain Radar. And, yes, they do work. My roommate and I have both had one for 2-3 years, and it has saved our asses many times.

I have a Cobra... it work pretty well. the best tool I've found to avoid tickets... is slowing down. But realistically... get a Uniden BearCat. They monitor the airwaves for police band radio. Any cop, ambulance, or fire truck in the area will set it off, even if they aren't using the radio. They are totally legal, but rather expensive.

The BearCat will detect for upwards of a mile... so you will often get an alert for something that isn't a threat... but if you're doing 120mph... it's nice to know if there MIGHT be a cop within a mile... even if it's not on the same road.
