got a ticket driving in Jersey today and i am thinking about investing in a decent radar detector.i was looking at this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...07846does anyone have any recommendations?

I rock the PASSPORT 9500ix. I also had a V1 but it falsed too much for my taste..

the 9500ix has GPS.. you can load your own POI's. There are databases for speed cameras and known speed traps for tagging. Also one of the coolest feature is when you get tagged.... it displays your actual GPS speed. nice to know what you are hit at.

If you want true stealth...get the 9500ci. I have just installed one on a buddies STi, very cool. Also installed an LPP (the one one that truly works) I would say you can't get any better than that.

If you are on a budget.. you can also use an 8500 x50. they also work great.

thanks for the reply, i actually found a 8500 x50 on craigslist and i think i might go with that.

also do they actually have to be installed? i thought you just plugged them into the power outlet.
