The Max has a brand new steering rack and a brand new right lower control arm. Holy Russian profanities, what a difference! I LOVE this car again! Steering is tight, responsive, communicative, and the car tracks wonderfully. So in the last 3 years I've replaced the entire power steering system, both lower control arms, most of the rubber (bushings, etc.) up front...Yeah...it was all worth it. It drives like it did a decade ago.

Now if I could just figure out why the brakes feel so anemic it'd be perfect.

If you've already ruled out any air in the lines and the fact that your brake pads/rotors are in good shape. Then you want to check the calipers and then maybe the brake booster (first check all the connections to the booster to make sure they are good, not sure if a 93's booster is vacuum powered but you may want to check it). And that basically completes your brake system. Good luck with it. Glad you fell in love with your car all over again.
