So im most likely getting an aftermarket exhaust soon. Either the Borla or the nismo.

In the mean time, I was just wondering if anyone has run the Racingline Y-pipe with the stock exhaust. How did it sound? Do you think the stock exhaust is going to be too restrictive making this purchase pointless? Would love to hear testimony from someone who has had the y-pipe with stock exhaust and aftermarket exhaust. I know it says the y-pipe does not throw a CEL/SES but has anyone had issues with this? Any feed back is appreciated. Thanks!

:rotfl .... Well then I can tell you from experience that either the Borla or Nismo exhaust is a great choice. I have the Nismo\y-pipe setup on my AC and ive had absolutely no problems. No check engine lights, cel\ses problems. Its been nothing but a joy to have. Probably the best bolt on you can buy for the ac. Now upon ordering from Racingline they have added the gaskets to accompany the y-pipe making it 100% fool proof. Before they didnt include the gaskets so customers had to buy sealant to make the bond nice and tight. Hurry up and buy one

I really wanted the nismo initially. But im having trouble finding it for a decent price (preferably used). I also noticed the Nismo is pretty much similar to stock when it comes to the size of the piping in some areas. Im sure it sounds great but gains wise....i dont see how much is happening there.

Now dont get me wrong, i know that we are looking at catbacks for sounds purposes for the most part....but i have convinced myself that a little larger piping along with the less restrictive y-pipe has to give a little more gains that the stock. Noticeable amount??? Maybe not....but i have a pretty good deal on a used Borla on my plate that I dont think i can pass on it. I know my dealership would rather see that nismo exhaust over the borla... We will see though :gotme

Alright its official....y-pipe has delivered but im waiting on Racingline for my gaskets :/ Hopefully i can install by the end of the weekend.

Also ordered the borla axle back exhaust...wont have that until next week. So i will get the chance to hear the y-pipe with stock exhaust before the borla.... Im pretty positive im gonna love the borla so im not worried.

congrats on the purchase bro!! i currently have the stock exhaust w/ the y-pipe set up & im pretty satisfied with the sound... it sounds pretty throaty which i love but is slightly raspy which i can deal with... i personally think its a good way to go until u feel like finishing the whole exhaust.

jus saw that u got the borla exhaust also... i wanted to go this route but im too hesitant... please post a video cause im SOOO TEMPTED to do this

Alright so sorry for the delays....I got really held up from s*** weather. I actually ended up installing the borla exhaust first. I absolutely loved it!!! The sound was perfect. No drone at all. The best sound is when you release the throttle and get that low end gargle. Just sounds bad a**. I didnt get a chance to take video or sound clips with just the exhaust though....sorry about that :/

I also installed my Y-pipe the other day. I was a little worried i was going to add a drone with this and be a little angry with myself. This was not the case AT ALL!!!

I now love my exhaust sound even more and have very little cabin noise. Even highway cruising there is no drone at all.

As for performance....little to no change with just the exhaust. Now with the y-pipe its a different story....I used to love 3rd gear...Now i F**KING LOVE 3rd gear. Car pulls noticeably harder all the way from low to high end rpms...

I will try and get a sound clip of everything soon. I did put my DC short ram back in....keeps throwing a SES light but i guess ill get over that. Only takes 15 mins to uninstall and throw stock airbox in anyways.
