Here's a quick vid I posted in the original STS thread just in case some people missed it.Once again, I happily stand by yet another fantastic RacingLine product. Awesome engineering and one of the best mods I've done for the car yet!http://www.youtube.com/watch?g...mt=18

Also, here's a comparison pic of the M1 Abrams shift knob from TWM performance. It's pretty freakin' expensive, but it just looks oh-so swanky! It sits a fair bit lower than the stock knob and is, of course, a bit heavier. I know Mehdi and several others are raving about how their RAZO RA96 changed the way the shifting felt because of the added weight, but I suspect a large part of that is also because the RA96 is a taller knob. The M1 is obviously heavier than stock, but I didn't notice the mind-blowingly orgasmic shifting experience that others supposedly have with the RAZO...I'm thinking it's because the overall height is shorter now... Oh well, I'm still really happy with it!

Good analysis, I also went with the RA96 and it is mind-blowing...

Yessir, I did! LED's, actually...of the x-mas variety. I strapped down each an every one of those little lights about an inch apart, all facing forward using about 300 mini zip ties and 12' of pegboard!...my bed glows purple-pink.

Oh god...I riced out my house................

I would but my shift boot (and armrest) is missing! It's basically just a stick with a ball on the end of it...kinda looks like a wierd, malformed phallus actually...

how much was the knob ESP? and are you having any difficulties shifting into first gear or any gear at all? because with the sts shifting gears feels wierd to me. i dont get that smooth feeling at all and its really clunky i guess you could say. ...and the razo looks like sh*t to me (just my opinion. sorry to whoever has razo)

meh, its all personal opinion. i think that metal ball looks a bit out of place in our car. not to mention there isnt really much of a grip or anything.

I didnt get the razo because i thought it was the only available weighted shift knob, i got it because:1. Cheaper than the abrams2. Style (personal preference i know)3. Comfort

I did not realize the comfort aspect until i got it, but my hand fell on that shifter and it felt like i got reunited with an old friend lol, it was amazing, it fits the way my hand falls on the shifter PERFECTLY.

I would like this style the best IF it was weighted and screwed on instead of using set screws.

I agree that the RAZO looks like poop (again, sorry to those of you that have 'em!). It all comes down to personal preference, right? I know a number of people that think it's stupid to have a simple metal ball as their shift knob! The knob was waaaay overpriced ($115 incl. shipping) but I really dig how it looks. And yes, I do have problems getting into first...and sometimes second. It's not enough of a hassle though for me to speak badly about the STS kit! Still totally worth it! I'm sure some new transmission fluid would help.

...and to everyone else: I'm not posting pics of it in my car just yet because my shift boot and armrest have been sent away to ShiftStyle to get reupholstered!!! Yeeeah.

i had the racingline (recommended by mcheddadi) oil in b4 i installed this STS, but I dont have any issues/difficulty/awkwardness what-so-ever going into 1st or 2nd.

I did have to kind of retrain myself to know the position of the gears, however, after a drive or 2 of wiping it around, it was like an extension of my arm once again =)

the razo one RA96 has a great feel to it since its keep the stock height. but I agree that the look isn't the best. Still the ergonomic shape is SOO worth it, plus its got leather so you don't feel the cool and heat as much. there is also a razo ball that sits higher than the Abraham (sits at stock position) if you guys want to keep the same amount of force shifting as the razo RA96 one but still have the ball type knob.

its the RAZO RA25 and its 340G and only costs abut 30$ instead of the crazy 115$ Abraham one

I doubt it and even if they do it might be in a very long time. They haven't made a knob that's compatible for the reverse lock out yet.

Clunky? Nah its short and crisp, the OEM was a little sloppy and clunky...my guess is that you don't have alot of experience driving different manuals...drive a 350Z and then tell if you think that's clunky? Cause this is getting close..i said CLOSE not the same. Drive a C5 Corvette...wow WORST THROW EVER...C6 very nice...Subaru...05 WRX...eh similar to oem a/c....of course then you have big ol diesels where shifting into OD is like pulling a slot machine lever...

Now as far as the Razo, i ordered it becaause it was the least offensive, it matches my black/silver and the shape is similar to oem...so i like it...but that's all in opinion as far as looks..as far as ergonomics its perfect.

oh and cause mcha heddi hi meccha hidi ho said so

yeah and 115 bucks for a tapped ball bearing is ridiculous...like I said..have someone you klnow make one in high school metal shop...

It'd be so easy to make with a sand mold (use a pool ball) and you could play around with alloys and after heats for color/weight etc...add lead whatever...Wish I would have thought of it..make one for 4 bucks and 2 shop class periods, sell it for 20
