So I went in to get my new Stillen rotors and pads put on and they called me in and showed me this...

Like I have posted before. Raceingline hardware sucks!!! You need to go to lowes or home depot and get new hardware.

Wow. Good to know the nuts and bolts I had to buy from lowes were better to install my y-pipe than the nuts and bolts I NEVER GOT from racingline hahaha

Not having nuts and bolts don't bug me that much. Cheap enough to buy at the store, no big deal.

Never saw it until now..

The hardware supplied is fine. The issue comes down to how you install it. Most people only glance at the instructions and carry on, resulting in lost bushings

Normally when you tighten a nut there is a metal to metal surface bond/interference for the parts you are installing, when you do the final turns to torque the nut the thread between the nut and bolt actually stretch slightly. This is what helps create the tight seal.

Because the endlinks have bushing blocking the metal to metal bond you can not get the threads to stretch and thus forming a tight seal. resulting in the nut backing out and eventually falling off. NOW this is why there is a second nut, 2 nuts= metal to metal. The problem arises when people see this and don't read or follow the instructions.

What many people have done is simple tighten one nut, then tighten the second one down on top of the other. Doing this does absolutely nothing. In the instructions it says to tighten both as mentioned above, but then using 2 wrenches, loosen the first nut while tightening the second nut. This will cause the threads between the nuts and bolt to stretch and thus create a near permanent bond

As for the OP to have an endlink look like that, likely the above tightening issue occurred and I can tell you most certainly that they were installed in their shortest possible state ( which is fine), but that the OP tightend the Left hand threaded nut the wrong way and made it tight to the head of the rod end instead of the black turn buckle meaning the turnbuckle was always loose and was rotating. When the bushings let go there was nothing stopping the endlink from vibration to the point where it unthreaded itself and fell off.

All hardware supplied was always at a minimum 8.8, but since about 1.5 yrs ago all hardware is 10.9 or btter

I had a shop do the install so I cannot comment on what they did but that was back in November 2009. Since then I paid for the replacement from you guys and you got it to me and it's back on and secure. I don't fault RacingLine for this. I realize it was an install issue.
