has anyone done any track or autocross with their rb equipted 240? from the looks of things, we would have to race againts some serious full race machines. I think the unlimeted mod sections. anyway to sneak into a fair class?

since the rb is a nissan motor, you switched it into another nissan, and it is under 3.0 L you can race in SM in SCCA autocross. This is, of course, barring any other mods you may have done. I am planning on racing in SM, which is pretty liberal as far as mods go. You can have adjustable damper coilies, stripped interior, RB25 swap, bigger turbo, street tires, and full engine management and still be OK for SM. Now, there are some VERY competative cars in SM where I am from, in tune with fully modded F-Bodies, corvettes, NSX's (in SM2), and the usual race-prepped (pretty much) neons, crx's, civics, miatas, etc. Im just saying expect some nice competition either way.

BTW, SM is Street Modified, and SM2 is Street Modified 2-seater (mostly CRX's, Miatas, and S-2000's)

What kinda coil overs are you goin to use? Do you know the spring weight your goin to run yet? Who is setting up the suspension for you?

Im running HKS Hypermax Drift coilies, they sit a little lower and have a stiffer spring rate than most systems, but at 600 shipped with camber adjustment and pillow mounts, I couldnt pass it up.

Also one thing you cant do in Street Modified is modify any factory body panel, be it the bumpers, doors, unibody, trunk, etc. This means you cant skeletonize your doors, cut out your wheel wells, run a tubbed floorboard, etc. The only caveat to this is you can drill holes in the body panels only to fit a body kit or a wing, and the wing can only be a certain width (i think its like 4 inches on either side wider than the car).

http://www.wincom.net/trog/stu/index.html is the SM homepage, with the rules posted. There are referneces to other classes, saying that all rules for these classes apply, so you may have to do some mkore research.

Oh, and by factory body panel, I meant to exclude adding fiberglass panels, etc. Thats allowed, as is a CF hood, full body kit, etc. You just cant save weight by removing a fender or anything.
