Hmmm, so Nissan is racing, but not so much in the US. Hope they have a greater presence in the future....... As for FI, if I understqnd it coreectly, Renault provides engines to Red Bull -- not sure abiut the chassis.kimbill wrote:I wish Infiniti was into racing, other than the drag strips and traffic lights -- like road racing, ALMS, even NASCAR. At Sebring we’ve seen BMW, Cadillac, Aston Martin, Mazda, and of course, the Audi and Peugeot duel (I think MB and Renault are only into FI). Honda is into racing, as well as Toyota, Subaru and Mazda racing, or they're providing engines. Detroit is committed…….

Not some.. More like a lot and pretty successful alsoSVTCOBRA wrote:Pretty sure that Nissan has some racing heritage.....and count the number of parts on your car that have Infiniti stamped on them....then count the number of parts that are Nissan
Come on down to Houston and watch Pucker Factor Racing compete in the 24 Hours of LeMons in our '91 Sentra SE-R.kimbill wrote:Hmmm, so Nissan is racing, but not so much in the US.Bill
Maybe this one?Mudgen wrote:Yesterday on my way home, I saw a dually pulling an enclosed racing car trailer. On the sides was a graphic of a Datsun 1600 or 2000 roadster with "44" on the side of it. There was a graphic with writing on the door of the truck, but I couldn't make it out. OT, I know, but those were some racing little cars. I had one with a factory rollbar, never raced it. On the wall of my den, I have a print of a pencil sketch of an SCCA race, with a TR3 leading and a Datsun 1600 close behind. Was done by a local artist, a friend, who did it from a photo his dad took of his buddy who was driving the TR3.

Almost certainly. Too big a coincidence to be otherwise.audtatious wrote:

Race was a flop. We blew up another SR20DE after 5 hours. If we keep this up, high-port engines are going to be an investment opportunity. We used the oil consumption rate from the last race but the engine was using more than that and it was too late when we checked it. Six laps into the third driver's shift the classic low-oil-causes-the-#3-rod-to-sieze caused a huge fireball out the back when the oil hit the header right at the start/finish line in front of God and everybody. LeMons organizers said that it was one of the most spectacular engine failures they've seen. Blew a hole in the oil pan AND front side of the block. Luckily the fire went out as soon as the oil was all gone and the driver suffered nothing more than a soiled driving suit.audtatious wrote:Make sure you post up some pix of the car and race. Running in the LeMons would be a blast!
