Ok,

I've actually just bought racing seats. And please listen to me:

You are gonna pay more buying cheap seats than buying more "expensive" seats - it's something called seat brackets!

If you get a pair of sparco's, it's gonna cost you somewhere around 600-800 i guess w/ seats and brackets that fit your car perfectly.

If you get a pair for $300, the material will be much crappier and you will have to either custom fabricate seat brackets ($300 or so) or get sparco brackets and modify them for a crappy fit.

I have Megan Racing seats right now about $450. The brackets are costing me about $200 (sparcos). I am hoping like mad that the MR seats will work good w/ these brackets.

The seats themselves are great quality tho, same as the tenzo's and sparco's I've tried.

If you want one for about $200, the material is not mesh fabric, it is cloth.

I've sat on some from a local supplier - $250-$300 shipped. Holds you in pretty decent, just the cloth material is not my style. And, you will have to do a lot of work to try to get seat brackets to fit.

Whether you get $200 seats or not, remember, seat brackets and fitting will also be a big concern.

Considering the seats are one of the most consistent things you will be using, you should seriously consider getting a decent pair. Just save up. Or only get a driver's side, who cares about your passenger, hahahaha.

Here's the NexTech seat I tried that fit me pretty good (I'm 5'10" 175lbs):

If you are in the South Cali area, I'm sure he'll give it to you for $200 local pickup. Just tell him (James) that Quoc-Viet (pronounced Kwa-Vet) with the 240sx referred you.

He's a very nice guy and can get you good seats too.

I'll let you guys know if there is much modification needed to the brackets for it to fit the 240 good once I install it next week.

A couple NICO members have them in their 240s and I havent heard any complaints. A friend of mine has them as well. I never sat in them, but thay look pretty good. If you dont want one with the fake nismo logo, then ebay should also have plain colored/labelless seats as well.

brokeas240 is right. I bought some great bucket seats from underground motorsports (NEX) for a very good price. Getting them in there was a bit of a pain. I still have to get a shop to take my old brakets, cut the bolting points and weld them to another peice of metal so the universal brackets will fit. All of this work becaue of the lump in the 240's.

Or you could spring for a set of S15 seats. I hear those are pretty nice as well.

take the money you were gonna spend on 2 crappy reclining seats + brackets and spend it on 1 good single piece bucket seat, unless you are a hard parker, then get the crappy reclining seats and get bride embroidered on the headrest.

I think it's a performance choice.

The reclining ones are two piece and they do not hold you in as well when you are doing extreme things, i.e. drifting.

The single piece seats will hold you in like no one's business. However, the single pieces are also the worst in comfort - I would hate having a single bucket as a daily driver.

Performance vs. Luxury - I pick luxury :).

It all depends on personal taste tho, that's what I think.

Yea I hate the single seats as well. Most of them are ugly and uncomfortable IMO.
