Some of you guys know on here because I've posted it on Facebook but I got a sponsorship with Corbeau Racing Seats a couple of weeks ago. The seats were custom made to order and I must say that the quality is second to none! :yesnod I got the seats made in Red cloth with black leather wear patches strategically placed. I also got a set of 3 point harnesses with shoulder pads in Black and the seat brackets with sliders. The only thing I ran into a problem with was the seat bracket itself; none of the holes lined up. Even though on Corbeau's website they only list Nissan Altima 02+ which is what they sent, it didn't fit. The only thing to do was to get hardened steel material and modify and mig weld my own brackets. Basically I cut off 3 of the 4 mounting points and re-welded in 3 new legs in the proper width. length, and height. At the end, it all came out perfect and was able to mount the seats. I also got some extra material from the same batch the seats were made from and re-upholstered the leather door insert. So without further adieu, here are the pics that I posted on FB. I'll take better pics of it today and try to get posted.

Yeah You have to understand that the SRS, Seatbelt and OCS all work collectively. Once you disengage any of the components, the system is deactivated. All of the SRS components use yellow connectors so it's best to disconnect the battery and WAIT FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES before disconnecting anything that involves the airbags.

For anyone wondering, the passenger seat weighed in at 57lbs. The Drivers (powerseats with heat) weighed in at 88. The new seats both weighed in at 30lbs a piece :chuckle:

Slightly off topic question - what kinda CF stuff am I seeing on your center console piece?

Dangeris I'm really happy for you bruh and the seats look great. I personally wouldn't give up any of my airbags. I've seen some accidents that made me go :ohno: . And the serious injuries those people got could have been avoided if their cars had side airbags as ours have. I'm not hatting or raining on your parade brother, but the stuff I've seen makes me love every single airbag on my car.

Yeah..I tried to figure out how to install these seats without messing up the airbags but no matter how I looked at it I was screwed. I spoke to a couple of Nissan Techs (locally & on the forums) and they said that the 3 point restraint was sufficient enough protection from going forward if the airbag was not deployed.

I hear ya bro but since the coupe is not my daily anymore I succumbed to a decision that I would assume that risk. However, there is a passenger liability waiver form in the glove box :naughty:

nice seats Dangeris! Anything is more comfortable than the OEM seats IMO. I wish i could have some g37 sport coupe seats to swap out my front driver and passenger seats but they're too damn expensive. I dont know if we can call your car an Altima coupe anymore... The only nissan parts left are the motor, transmission and sheet metal... lol. The car looks good, whats next on the mod list?

Thanks Man. I do have a lot of time and effort into it but working on a few more sponsors still for the year. refuse to put out more $$ than I already have. If these companies don't know by know that I'm committed by the looks of the car and the list of sponsors I have, then I'm not sure what they are looking for.. :gotme

D, you should know what these companies want. At least all the companies who have declined you would know by experience.

D, I have been considering Recaro, but may downgrade a little to Sparco as I am only throwing so much money on this car. I may have landed some JDM parts for our cars and will need to adjust my money if they come out. They are doing R&D in Japan and hope everything goes well. Thats all the info I can give.

I am with Toxik, brand name wheels are the way to go.

Yeah I'm trying to get them now but good grief! I know better wheels would look great but with 2 kids in college this year (PSU & Drexel) the bank (wallet) is closed for the rest of the year! :frown: That's why if I get new wheels it has to be a full sponsor and not partial.. :chuckle:

My school consistently arranges for me to get about double the financial aid required to pay for classes, and since I'm working full time, too, that means I end up with about $12k extra a year to pay for the additional expenses, and $5k of that each year can go to paying for nice things. If I were really focused (and only ate PB&Js every day) I could have a nifty 6MT swap and turbo kit on the car next summer. But I'm not that focused, and I'd like to keep my car a viable DD.

The Harness has a retractable inertia reel that is duct tape to the rear deck :chuckle:

Joking :lolling: No really it's bolted down to two of the OEM seatbelt points under the rear cushion. I'm gonna devise a harness belt in the near future and mount it where the old front seat belt points are and relocate the inertia reel there. That way the belt is more horizontal :yesnod

Bumping an old thread for a question to dangeris... how hard was it to remove the door panels and install the door inserts? I did it on my first car ('95 Civic hatchback) which was easy as hell given its age, but I figure it might be a little more complicated with this car. Thanks alot!

removing the door panel is easy. It's held on by white plastic clip/plugs all the way around (except the top) When you have it off, the whole panel is put together by plastic rivets. What you need to do is to use a drill bit and drill off the rivets heads. It's melted plastic so becareful. Once you do that the panel comes apart. To put it back together, you'll need a bunch of short stubby pan head screws that is wide enough to "grasp" the hole. You'll see what I'm talking about once you have it apart. You'll also need some small fender washers to sandwuch between the screw and panel. DReed just did this not to long ago also on his coupe. MAybe he'll see this and chime in. Goold Luck and Merry Christmas :)

Shoot, totally forgot about this thread. Thanks for the reply!

Good to hear, my Civic was exactly the same. Although I can't remember what I used to put it back together, so I'll go with your route. What material did you use, btw? I bought some red fabric from a fabric store but some of the adhesive I used showed through so I wanna make sure that doesn't happen with this car.
