so if u remember this thread http://nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=83169in it i mentioned i never raced with a manual before and was asking about launching, shifting, and timing. well i guess i figured it out pretty quick thanx to u guys as seeing thats me with the first place trophy (sucky trophy) but yeah i went through the whole field of bracket racers and i was the last race of they day. i reved up to about 2k to launch, feathered off the clutch (as the third light came on) to minimize wheel hop and shifted at 6K. and if any one is curious, i discoverd during time trials that if i shifted at 6k from third to fourth, i ran the same times as if i didnt shift and let the revs continue in third till the finish line.
also my brothes first time racing he did very poorly, i feel kinda bad, i wish i would have had more advice for him, but he had a slipping clutch by the time eliminations started. (thats his red rx7

and yeah, even though i did well with this car, i dont think im gonna be doin this very often, even though it was fun goin round after round knockin all those civics out, corners = more fun
oh yeah, there was a black, white, blue, and orange S13's there, and they ALL had SR swaps, the orange s13 was BY FAR THE nicest car there even though it just sat in the pits. so if ur on this board - PROPS (wish my cameraman would have taken pics )

yes because it was bracket racing fastest time doesnt matter, i just dialed in what i could run consistently thats all that matters. there were a few reasons why my dial in was high, i really didnt want to get into that unless someone asked but here goes:
-took my time shifting from 2nd to 3rd to avoid the grind (especially after the runs started to pile up)-allowed a friend to ride shot gun during elimations.-heat was posing a problem as it was close to 90 degrees and towards the end they actually had to wait for me to come back from the run before (less than 5 min between runs!)- did i mention i hate wheel hop!
even though i was dialed in at 17.1 the rx7 i went against in the semi finals had a 17.11. i must have been about 4 car lenghts ahead of him, so i let off to let him catch up and to make sure i didnt break out, then the same thing happened in the finals against a civic where i had to let off because he was so far behind and make sure i didnt break out
early in the day during time trials when i was going for fastest time i could run low 16's but im stil not sure what my fastest actually would be with good conditions and more practice
