Ok, I swapped over to a CA20e manifold (normally aspirated lengthwise manifold rather than turbo sideways one) and since getting her running the idle is racing... 2400-3200 rpm most of the time. Rather annoying. Anyway, I had the idle adjuster, IAC, and IAR all plumbed seperately as shown on the CA20e diagrams (3 air paths, one 3/8", one 1/2" and one 5/8"). Well I removed both the IAC and IAR from the picture. Took the IAR (1/2" hose) off the car, unplugged both electrical connectors, and plugged both lines (5/8" and 1/2" hoses). All I have connected is the idle adjuster (3/8" hose) which is actually CLOSED and its still idling high. =( Where the hell is the air coming from??? lol. Suggestions?

Someone had said it might be the fuel pressure regulator having failed... how would that cause for my idle to race? According to my Wideband O2 I'm still running rich 24/7, so its not like I'm running lean and there is too little fuel... But I guess it may have failed... I had to use a CA20e fuel rail (smaller cc injectors) with larger injectors (450cc vs 270cc)... so I guess that could be the problem. Thoughts?

Your leak is more than likely at the intake manifold to head area. I mean with that much racing, it's a pretty good leak and that's usually the area that causes that.

I've tried narrowing it down... I've sprayed a few fluids all over trying to get it to race more, but it won't... =( I even replaced the gasket on the IAC at the back of the manifold and it went away for a while... but has since come back. I'm at a loss as to where its coming form and its so high pitched its really hard to narrow down. =(

Thanks for the input though!
