I'm looking at putting a 4pt harness in my car because the S13 seats suxxor and I can't stay in them while autoXing...dang seats!

Anyhow, what are some of the attachment points ya'll use? I don't have a rollbar, so I'll still use the stock belts on the street for safety.

What are your views on using the seat mounting points (rear) for the shoulder belts? Remember, it's a car that gets autocrossed...nothing more. I don't do 100mph tracks (because there aren't any in East TN...suxxor!).

Thanks in advance!

Maybe consider swapping in a S14 seat?

You shoudl get some kind of mounting bar put behind the seats for the harnesses....

all east TN guys say suxxors. wtf? LOLis urs coupe or hatch? u can make a plate that goes to ur rear deck if it is a coupe, i have seen that done on a s14 though. u should come out to TRSCCA and not ETR, cause our course is way better and we have our last one this weekend.

Where is yours this weekend? Nashville?

Oh, and it's a hatch.

Here's what I've come up with.

For now, I left the stock belts in place for street application. It has been brought to my attention that a harness is very dangerous in a rollover situation without at least a roll bar, since the stock belts allow you to be folded into the passenger compartment, thus aiding in the avoidance of head trauma.

I mounted the 4pt to the rear seat bolts (it's only autoX...not likely to get above 50mph in a fast section for more than 3 seconds). This coming spring, after suspension mods, I'll see about a mid-cage (behind the seat thing) and mount 'em up to it. I'll get a shiney one...so it'll be faster.

ours is at the nashville superspeedway.check out http://www.trscca.com

yea, u shouldnt use 4pt for daily use esp since they are mounted wrong. seatbelts have to be mounted correctly for them to work. u cant just bolt them to the rear seatbelts cause the angle is WAY to steep and if u get in an accident it will compress ur spine. the seatbelt can go 5 degrees below and 15degress above. i have mine mounted not correctly (to the rear seatbelts) but i dont use mine daily and i have airbags, plus i am gettin ready to put a cage or a roll bar.
