i saw a bunch of racing chips on ebay that say they will add 20 - 40 HP. does anyone have these or know if they are BS? and do they have any side effects on your car?

For the most part, these chips aren't worth their cost. You're better off spending money on more effective mods (such as helping the car breathe better).

all these things are just resistors. they change the readings going to the ecu. does the job but its not safe IMO.

I believe testing has shown the ebay "chips" do absolutely nothing.

They're called "piggy backs." They just tell to run more fuel and it'll make a huge fugly black mark on your bumper.

Some will change the fuel air mapping and run your car lean and very hot. They are unsafe, and 90% of the time absolute bullsh!t. If it were that easy to get 10-30HP for $5-$50 we all would be running the chips. The best chip you can get for your money, is a jumbo bag of Doritos.

that stuff is total BS. you are looking for a piggy back system or the JWT ecu and another company but i forgot at the moment. I recommend getting the Greddy Emanage ultimate to do advance timing, control A/F ratio's, 2 step option, rev limiter and much more....

I actually baught one of them, the persons feedback was all positive so i figured, whats 7 dollars.. I just got it yesterday and its basically a paperclip, I have no idea if it will work or not but the way the directions are it just reminds me of sticking a paper clip into a power outlet, I aint goin anywhere near my car with it, but just to let you know, yeah i think its a scam.
