I am racing a 240 at brainard IS 1/4 track this week end. were beting on who will win. my mods are listed in my sig but i also added a 35 N20 shot and slicks. DO you think i will beat him?? heres his list of mods

with nitrous you will, up the shot to 50 to be sure.

stock is what 17-ish? how much power are all these mods adding up to on this car. When I guess I always guess conservative.

My car ran a 16.4 @ 83mph at the last NICO meet in Bowling Green. The only "mod" is having removed the air silencer. Other than that, it's bone stock and showing 198k on the original engine/transmission. It's a single cam btw.

My last 240 ran a 15.8 with intake/exhaust and a trunk full of tools, amp and subs. It was also about 83 degrees at the time.

TMS is the coolest and he would smoke everyone. Werd.

240sx runner just so you know, most of those "mods" are nice and all, but they aren't much for increasing HP. Sure exhaust and intake help a little but they are simply "breather mods" and do just that, help it breathe. The rest of the stuff is just things that help lean towards better performance, but not enough to list on a mods page.

Don't know what a stock 240 would run, just guessing, on a stopwatched-time run my CA18DE ran a traction challenged 16.8 so i would expect a little better from a KA due to it's higher torque. When talking about cars with a few bolt ons and low double digit increases in power driver has more impact on performance so guess conservitive. I rented an S14-type 240 in Cali and even auto I held of an early nineties firebird with it, not bad IMO for a KA24, rentals are cool:D I got a lot of respect for guys who are doin it with the KA, it takes some minerals to ignore trends and do it on your own. Whatever it runs good luck with it:)

shifter makes you faster.clutch makes you faster.ignition system makes you faster (even if its just a little)UD pullies will make you faster.

however, since its his opponent that has those things not him its cause for concern.

but the nitrous will put you over the edge, just remember not to push the button untill you have full traction :-D

-shifter makes you faster.- its in the driver ive beaten plenty of cars that had short shifters with my good ol stock its in the driver(does not make you faster)

clutch makes you faster. - i can see that, but all it does is decrease slippage, not add hp.

ignition system makes you faster (even if its just a little)- very little

UD pullies will make you faster. - not really listen to many peoples first posts after installing these, i mean if the post right after, they ar usually dissapointed, later on they rave abou em, kind of a psych thing to justify the $$ spent on pullies.

like deftdrummer said great for performance not for power.

-240sxrunner - i think w/ the n20 you might have him beat, but he's gonna have a better launch and i thnk it should be somewhat close

I never said any of those add HP, I said they make you faster. and no matter who the driver is, they will shift faster with a short throw than stock... its an advantage.clutch, UD pullies and ignition, will all make you faster, period. I guess if you're retarded the clutch could hurt you on the launch, but any handy-capable person can figure that out in a couple practice launches.

anyways, the point still stands, with your nitrous, you should win. up it to a 50 shot and you WILL win.

I've been on the forum for a long time, I just dont post alot :-D
