Didn't watch the video, but I don't need to watch it to know that there will alwas be stupid, short-sighted, and narrow minded people.
I'm a Humanitarian in the most literal sense: humanity is my "religion" if you will. I have a hard time understanding where the concept of racial, cultural, gender, or any other kind of human-subset inequality comes from. WE ARE HUMAN. THIS IS FANTASTIC. I don't see why we can't stop worrying about which "kind" of human and start focusing on being the most amazing damned species we can be.
Diversity is one of Humanity's greatest STRENGTHS.
The hardest thing for me is that people don't seem to be capable of separating the concepts of CELEBRATING diversity versus insinuation of racial superiority. I LOVE being German. It's fantastic. I'm hugely proud of my heritage, my family, and my culture. That doesn't mean I think less of people of other culture or heritage. In fact, if the Italian or Cuban or Russian or Vietnamese guy across the room is any less proud of his heritage than I am of mine, I'd argue that he is doing ALL of Humanity an injustice.
