We took my dads 96 200sx SE-R out to the dragstrip this weekend. Hit a best of [email protected]. The car wouldn't hook up, the best 60' of the day was a 2.3, and the worst being a 2.5. The best part was against a 02' WRX with intake and exhaust. He ran a best of 15.0@90mph, he wanted to run against the SE-R so I raced him. The kid launched it at 4K and said he slipped the clutch, which I thought was pretty stupid, being the car is AWD, when we launched I pulled on him, due to a better R/T, missed 2nd, and still managed to stay a car ahead of him...I ran a 15.313, to his 15.314, I thought that was a bad a** race, thought I'd share, I'm bored/tired, need sleepy.

14.8 is good for a reasonably stock SE-R, but this on is far from it. We couldn't get it to hook up at all. The list of mods are, PRI cold air intake, AEBS 4-1 header, 2.5' exhaust, JWT S3 cams, Unorthodox pullies, JWT ECU, Eibach prokits, KYB AGX shocks, and Wilwood big brakes. I expected a low 14 out of it, the MPH is there, but the traction isn't.

seems to be always the case when you start adding stuff to front drive sr20s , the nissan concept "disco potato" with that Det never hooks up right and it has 17 inch wheels w agressiv tires and the limited slip diff in there , its gettin ready to be real bad with me , turbo will be in 1 weeks before the alaskan winter starts , 200whp and ice ...mmmmm. fun

First off the WRX driver just sucked balls at driving if he is running a 15.3. I ran a 14.1 in a bone stock WRX. Either way sounds like the 200SX is running strong. Also its very easy to slip clutch in an AWD car... its due to un-proper break-in in this case. Best launches in the WRX are found around 4.0-4.5k ... stock trim with a decent driver they will run 14.3-14.6 all day. Anyone that knows how to launch the AWD properly can put it in the 13s (13.9).

I'm not disputing the fact the guy was a dumb**** driver, cause he was. I'm just saying we were even all the way down, even with a missed shift. I really don't thikn he was winding it all the way up, but I don't really know for sure.

actually he might be winding the WRX TOO far up.The power falls off (stock anyway) around 5k.After that youre just wasting your time. They are incredible cars but I'm waiting for the real Lancer to come.

Power will only increase on the WRX...it's called boost. It only gains boost as the RPM's increase, unless it isn't getting enough fuel and so on. It might have the most power at 5k but that doesn't mean that it still doesn't make power past that.
