i was coming back from blockbuster a couple of nights ago after picin up some movies to watch, just chillin drivin slow having fun just crusin. i hit a stop light and a truck pulls up next to me, so i look over and don't think anything about it. i guess this guy saw my exaust and pods and thought to himself "stupid rice boy better teach him a lesson" i took off normal like i always do hitting about 3g before shifting to second. about the time i hit second this dude starts pullin on me, so i think right on, time to school a truck. needless to say i was very surprised when the truck was running parrell to me. so i'm looking over trying to figure out just what kind of truck this is when i see SS now i don't know what kind of motor he had in it..if i was to guess i'd say the supercharged V-6 and not the supercharged 454. the 454 would have killed me easy. i could hear his supercharger whining so i know it had that. it was a good race got up to about 85 runnin side by side before i called it quits and slowed down. i would like to think that he was surprised that a "ricer" could hang with his SS. i bet he won't under estimate a 240 again. i'm only boostin 5 psi too. not a kill, not a loss, but still fun none the less.

The Silverado SS is a 6.0L Vortec V-8 that makes 345hp and 380ft/lb and weighs 5013lbs. I am sure that he was probably impressed that you were able to keep up with him. Lets not kid ourselves, he has probably bought into that savy marketing of the American automakers that his truck has more power than most and thus he rules the road. I would have loved to see that race again from a dead stop. I am impressed that you can hang with him. Lets not kid ourselves we all know that 240's rock.

I've seen one cyclone in my lifetime. Black and it was for sale. He wanted like 15k for it. It was parked at a golf course and I saw it while coming off the 18th hole.

There are a good number of Syclone's here in Austin... one of them is exceptionally fast (single digits?)

I'm spoiled, my good friend owns a Typhoon and yes they are super quick. A mutal friend of ours in an LS integra with I/H/E and body kit wanted to race him.... The Typhoon killed the teg by like 10 cars lol. The race was from a stop btw, thats why it was such a killing. Also, my friend with the Typhoon is looking into getting an SS, don't know why.

What I have found interesting about the Typhoon and Syclone is the fact that the redline is 4800rpm. I assume the engine is setup to make a lot of torque.

Hey Bud, there is a red Typhoon that I always see at the new Lowes behind Regal Cinema in Westfield. If you ever go by there on a weekend, I bet you would see it. Seems to be in nice condition. I love the Syclone and the Typhoon. So sweet. My dad would talk about them often when i was younger and he had his Turbo Regal.

i think that the syclone has twin turbos on a 4.3 V-6 and AWD, don't quote me on the engine not totally sure on the engine size. i think i read some where that they run low 14's stock from the factory. i wouldn't mind having one of those puppies but the price is just a bit high for me. it would be an awesome stoplight to stop light racer.

They said that the Syclone runs 13.8 in the 1/4mi and the Typhoon (with 200 more pounds) runs 14.1.

and they just look so cool with the groud fx and all.

still don't think I'd want one in snow even with the AWD

i saw one at Vista Ridge mall a while back. i was shocked cause i've never seen one of chevy's/GMC special trucks, just those pansyass Extremes. i was freaking out and my mom was all "what, its just a boxy looking truck" i had to explain to her what they were and why they were so cool.
