I was driving down the freeway yesterday morning. A 2003 WRX pullls up behind me. I was doing about 60 and there was open freeway ahead for miles. So I figure let er rip lets see what it'll do. I just put my catback on 2 weeks a go and l really haven't had a chance to open it up. It is about 25 degrees outside so the cold air is making her run just right. I proceed to punch it . I start pulling away I get up to 80 in seconds all is good. I hit 100 all is good. I hit 110 and he pulls even with my rear bumber. I hit 115 I see him right beside me . I hold it for a second longer and he starts to pull ahead. I shut it down. He is being blocked my another car so I flash him to cut in front of me. We both pull over and chat for a bit. Turns out he has a 95 240SX that he normally drives. He just bought the WRX 2 days before because of all the snow we have. He says he has seen me around and he loves my car especially the color." Blue pearl" . He say he has done some mods to his 240 and really loves it the way it handles. He said he was impressed with my effort and he had fun. He also said that his 240 is for sale. I may look into it I need one to tune and one for a daily driver. It was really no contest 170HP with mods vs 227HP stock . Plus I had a 50 pound bag of sand in my trunk for snow traction. But the higher torque got me up to speed quick. I didn't have to hold my head down. I still think my 240 looks better anyway. It was fun.

I miss my WRX....

But I'd still rather have the S14, all said and done.

Clevland must have friendly people, I would never pull over to the side of the road with a stranger.

So where's "Cool People Land"?

I really wouldn't think twice about it, and I'm in DC Metro. I mean, some strangers, yeah, keep driving. Our tuner culture around here seems pretty devoid of shadiness, which isn't the case in some places.

Yeah man, that is awesome. I can see have a respectful run up the interstate, but stopping to chat? How'd that come about...that's real cool. It's fun when people aren't lame about having a fast or semi-fast car lol.

a side note~It'd probably not be too great a risk to pull over and chat with someone in a 2003 wrx...since thier car is worth alot more $ to most people. But yeah if I see two people get out instead of one and the passenger is carrying a crowbar...I'm out. haha.

around here there is a 240sx that kills all. 20psi SR leaves Evo MR's in the dust and beats STi's by at least 4 car lengths. none of this is official of course.

Actually the guy followed me to my exit and then I pulled into my jobs parking lot . "I was on my way to work." When I rolled into the parking lot he pulled beside me and rolled down the window and told be he had a 95 and bla bla bla so I said pull up and I'll talk to you. I would not pull off the side of the road and talk to somebody I did not know. I would at least go to a public place. I think he said he paid like $17000 for his 2003. Man... can you imagine what that kinda money put into the 240 would do. Even half that much.

Even with 20psi he's got to have some other stuff going on there.

Is he running street tires? He almost has to not be....

Evo MRs can get under 4.0 sec 0-60 without very drastic mods, that is REALLY fast. Hell, the FQ400 runs a 3.5 STOCK, that's like Porsche Carrera GT territory.

btw: nice hatch. Are those the Rotas?
