I have.. K&N FIPK, and apex n1 duals, strut bars, n b&m SS....he just had an aftermarket intake i believe. Well we lined up and my friend joe flagged us off; both of us had a really good launch. I revved my 240 to about 3.5-4K or so and he did too..We were about even through first and second, and i thought he was about to pull on me at the top of 2nd!! but he didnt. From 2-3 upshift i pulled him by about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cars before he let off.. i dunno what i run in the 1/4 but i'm pretty happy with the outcome of the race last nite..

Your car puts about 110 horsepower to the wheels maybe, and the miata probably about 90. I would hope you would win, regardless of weight. Topend power matters just as much as lowend.

What a crappy kill

Most mini-vans will kill a miata in a straight line, trust me...I know

Miatas are fun, agile, tossable, and SLOWWWW!

They rev up fast, but the gear ratios are too close together, so they really can't accerate that great in a straight line.

Sheer Ignorance in this thread. Miatas can be very quick, bone stock. Let alone turbocharged. Get ahold of a turbo miata and kiss your *** goodbye.

The Miata isnt built for the purpose of drag racing. Turbocharged, yes, its MORE than capable of handing someone their a**, but stock-for-stock in a drag race, it runs neck and neck with most economy cars and four-cylinder coupes.

<- Miata nut since 1997, still looking for a 1996 British Racing Green M-edition.

is Elise2005 a troll or something?

the second gen Miata would pose a much better race though...it'd probably beat the 240 by a few car lengths...

Yes.... he's a troll.... and just about as useless as a Miata.

They do make fun auto-x cars... and a turbo Miata is quite fast I would imagine... but the two N/A Miatas I've driven would have been smoked by a Toyota Tercel in a drag.

And it will eat it up in the corners.

Corners>Straight line

At least Jesda has respect for the Miata

It's an EXAGERATION for the point of argument. Do you REALLY think I believe a Tercel is faster and/or better handling than a Miata? I have MUCH respect for the miata as mentioned in EVERY post I've made in this thread.

"They do make fun auto-x cars... and a turbo Miata is quite fast I would imagine"

"Miatas are fun, agile, tossable,"

As mentioned previously, I have driven two of them and they are a ball of fun! I got the pleasure of taking one through some sick local mountain roads and it was almost as fun as my 240. It just lacked the "a$$ slammed back in the seats" pull that the 240 has coming OUT of the corner.

I wish that one day I could fit in a miata w/o looking like a clown.
