This was done with a 91GSX and not a 240SX...sorry guys.
So, I am in Davenport Iowa at the time, driving down 53rd Ave. I come to a light and a red Grand Prix turbo pulls up next to me. He starts reving. Well, I have my 2 year old son in the car, not about to do that. He takes off from the light like a bat outta hell. He waits for me at the next red light, rolls down his window and say, "How does it feel to be schooled by an american car?" I say back, "Meet me at the Hardees on the corner of Brady and 53rd in 30 min, I have to drop my son off cause I am not racing with him in the car." He agrees and I head for home, drop of my son, and head back to Hardees. When I get there, a couple friend of mine are there, and shortly after that, he pulls in. We decide were to go for the race, and we head out to a dark stretch of two lane outside of town. Find a red light, line up, and get ready. As the light turns green, I rev to 4500 and slip the clutch, launching the car somewhat sideways (ACT2600 w/st. disk), and nail second. He is right about my rear bumper. Take second to 6500 and hit third and pull clean away from him. I let off, and he flys by me probably doing well over 90. He slows down and now wants to go from a roll. OK...I slow to a crawl, and get down into first gear, and roll about 10mph. He goes, and starts to pull on me, till I hit 16lbs on the turbo. Good nite Pontiac. So much for getting schooled by an american car huh?
2 months later, I am driving my friends debaged 96 Cobra, and guess who I see? The red turbo Grand Prix, so my friend tells me to hose him, which I do with ease.
We pull into an empty lot, and he follows us in. As we get out of the car, I ask him if he rememberd racing a white GSX about 2 months ago. He says yes. So, I say to him..."I thought you were gonna school me with that american car of yours."
He just smiled and said he was sorry for coming across like a jerk.
Shortly after that, he blew his turbo at the 1/4 track...no more Pontiac.
