Hi Guys/ Girls, Since there hasn't been a write up on this, I thought I'd do one for the people who have the Stillen Fascia and have wondered of how it would look with a Race Mesh. It wasn't that hard to do but the temperature wasn't cooperating...17 degrees today. I'm sure it would have been a lot easier if the bumper was off.
Here's a list of what you'll need to complete the install:
2 sheets of Race Mesh (I used black)Pair of Tin Snips4" tie wrapsTape Ruler
First off, you'll need to remove the shroud below that is attached by 11 clips.
Next, here's the mesh that I used. It was given to me for free so I couldn't beat the price. You'll need to cut 2 pieces at 9"x8", 8"x15" and a 8"x26" piece with the Tin Snips.
After you cut the pieces, you'll need to bend the 2 pieces with a 1" bend on both sides. The middle should measure 6". The pic below shows one end with a 3/4" and the other with a 1 1/4" bend. I adjusted the length on the other piece.
Before you bend the pieces, make sure you have the orientation of the grille the right way
The pics below shows where you should drill 1/8" holes. Note, when drilling the holes on the post, make sure you only drill on the side facing the outside. Believe me, when I was drilling the fascia, you'd thought I was doing surgery on my own kid!
Next, take one of the 8"x9" mesh and slip it up and in behind the bumper. Use a tie wrap to secure it. Make sure the head of the wrap is behind the grill. Do this for both sides.
Next take the 26" long mesh that is bent with the 1" ridge and slip it behind and up between the back of the bumper. Make sure that the 1" flap is "sandwiched" between the bottom of the metal bumper rail and the fascia. Once you have it place make sure that the end of the grill "splits" on one of the support posts. Starting at corner FURTHEREST from the middle ,use a tie wrap to secure it, again making sure that the head of the tie wrap is behind the mesh. Depending where you start (Left or Right) you'll be securing the mesh on one of the post but leaving the other post unsecured UNTIL you install the final piece.
Once that piece is installed, Slip the final piece up and secure that with the tie wraps. When securing the final piece to the post, make sure that the tie wrap goes thru BOTH meshes
This is what it should look like after it's all done.
Hopefully this instructional guide was as clear as mud. Let me know if you guys have further questions.
