so i decided to drive my g to work after giving it to my wife for the time being and coming home late at night, another g pulls right behind me on the freeway and shadows my every move.. mind you i wasn't going that fast, 85mph... funny thing is it has the same color as mine (gray)... guy pulls right beside me and honks his horn... i thought this guy is retarded, wanting to race the same car with the same engine.. if he was modded, we'll still end up being equal (cai, plenum spacer, exhaust )...we both even have stock 18's... so what do i do? all clear up front, 11:30 pm? freeway? of course i let loose... all said and done, we were just two dumb idiots wasting gas.. as far as who had the edge, depends on who you talk to... i beat that dumass by a mile ... funny thing is the wifey says that everytime she drives the g, some young punk with their fart cans, tries to provoke her to race.. anybody else here gets challenged once in awhile?

People always want to race. I think its funny. Most of the time its high school kids.

My wife races people sometimes when she drives my car. She likes to watch them go "wow, I just got wasted by a GIRL." It makes her laugh.

well, judging by the looks on your ride, yours is definitely a race magnet...

Nobody wants to race me, especially if I'm in my Z (28). I guess they think I'm a soccer Mom.

I think a lot of it has to do with age too. I'm sure 99% of the people that want to race also don't think I own my car.

It's hard to resist the urge to race but at the same time...I have to keep my license in order to pay for the car. And of course, if the little has his day by beating me off the line of a non-race, then more power to him. He must have needed that more than I do.

I had a Mazda wagon wanting to race a few weeks ago. Took a lot of power from me to not roll down the window and yell 'Zoom, Zoom, Zoom!' as he was revving.

Look at it as a compliment. People don't want to pick a race with a car that will probably beat them. Kids used to rev on me all the time in my S2000. I would just look at them and say "yeah right...let me go get my other car".

its always some guy with a 4 banger... most of the time i just ignore them... sometimes ill just pull on them and slow down just to show them they never had a chance...

i had a f150 fx4 that wouldnt let me pass him... kept speeding up everytime i tried to pass at regular speed... the third time he did it i punched my g35x and waved out the sun roof...

another time i had a guy in a charger srt8 that was following me move for move then finally got beside me matching my speed... then he pulled off hard.. i couldnt resist this one... i caught up quickly and passed him slightly... once we hit a small traffic patch the g35x handling made it an easy snipe of a big body v8... on the straight way he could keep up... but you could tell he was nervous turning his car at high speed

my homeboy has a 2006 poniac grand prix stock supercharged... like two weeks ago we actually went light to light from dead stop at like 3am in the morning... i thought i was going to lose cause he was supercharged... to my surprise we were even 1st and 2nd gear, but as soon as a switched to third i pulled away... and we both floored the accellerator. another nice snipe of a 3.7 liter supercharged gmc v6.

I get it all the time... Lots of s2k's in my area... I love to pick them off like fly's.

I also had a g coupe one day... he beat me... NOT haha Sorry coupe guys... the sedans are faster

But I have had camero's, Mustangs, trucks, suv's (one fx 45) even a brat in a range rover...

I have yet to be beat by anyone that trys to race me... I raced a roush supercharged mustang 4.6 about a year ago when I had a loaner..

It was quite the race. He couldn't get traction in 1st and 2nd so i beat him until we hit about 70mph and then he was gaining and pasted me at 95mph (right when I went into 4th with the auto)

My friend was like wow... i didn't think that was going to happen... I was like yea don't mess with the infiniti sedans you never know what would happen

Seeing Camaro spelled with an "e" is as bad as seeing Infiniti spelled with a "y"

I am actually into a position where a ticket could also take away my income. The fact is that if one is a race magnet and responds he is as stupid as the ones making the initial challenge. Most of us probably have done the 3 in the morning no one is around excuse, but that mean we were smart when we did it.

Take it to the track is the best advice I have seen on this board.

I actually had a VW try to take me on the way home one day. I was behind him, open interstate, going uphill. He punched it...so I punched it and waddaya know....buhbye lil Vdub. I waved as I got off at my exit. I think he actually got mad (these guys should do their homework). I also got shadowed by a souped up wrxsti and got whooped! He musta had serious mods.

I get a huge variety of people wanting to race me, especially in MINIVANS of all things.

I get the usual assortment of douchbag Jetta idiots with their popcorn-fart exhausts trying to race me and Civics too. God I hate Hondas.

I have had a few good runs,

One night on 3 lane highway with lights every 3 miles of so i ran against a firebird W6 and killed him up to 70-75 when he finally passed me... happened every light

Messing with my wife in a IS300 would pull away and let off at 60 and 80 and at 100 she kept up and passed me at 115...

Messing with my friend in a 05 turbo stang, i would pull in off the line and to about 4000 in second when he spooled and came by me sideways. that’s what 15 psi does in a 4.6 stroker with 589 rwhp. I consider my car slow after that but we have made 911 turbos look like they stand still.

What streets have you been running on?

When I come back to Utah we'll have to meet up. I'll get you to mod your car some...
