Well, this is pretty annoying. Recently, my MAF went out. What did it take with it?

The ECU!

Symptom:

Ignition timing at idle won't adjust (stuck at TDC with the dizzy cranked all the way).Vehicle won't start with TPS unplugged (goes FULL rich)I can't drive my car.

Test findings:

Key on, engine off, TPS connected = 0.4v on the return circuit.Key on, engine off, TPS disconnected = 2.3v on the return circuit (which should be 0.0v)!

Checked all the engine and ECU grounds, tested with EVERYTHING disconnected in the engine bay (O2, injectors, coil, ignitor, MAF, TPS, IACV, CTS, Temp sending unit, Distributor) and got same results...2.3v on the return circuit.

So, there's something that has started backfeeding into that circuit inside the ECU.

I'm grumpy.

Don't know...I'm having wiring problems as well. So where is the source coming from?Relay box?

UPDATE...According to deviousKA, those voltages are normal. LOL I guess I'm a tool.

However, we're still trying to figure out why I can't adjust timing and why the ECU fires off the injectors like mad with the TPS disconnected.

Could it be a faulty board?

If anyone needs me, I'll be in the other room...hitting myself in the face.

The dizzy was off one tooth. Car runs great and I've been working the tune.

hehe.

my bet would be on a capacitor.. take a look at em their pretty straightforward to replace if you know how to solder

because if you getting voltage somewhere where it should be 0 then i think a capacitor is shorted..
