I DID SEARCH, but results were inconclusive

I have a weird, loud, howlling sound coming from the rear when I give it gas. It gets louder until I reach about 120km/h. The truck is automatic, and it goes away whenever I let go of the gas pedal...

any ideas?

Now, this is the noob in me, I got a couple noob questions about the 98 Infinity QX4

1. how do you remove the radio trim?2. Where do i find a correct audio wiring diagram for the "BOSE" sound system?3. Would 91-96 4Runner rims fit R50's?4. Would the chrome 87-95 pathfinder rims fit the R50's?

i was going to say maybe your rear window is loose but it goes away when you let off the gas? maybe have someone sit back there and pinpoint the noise? no clue man sorry

1) Remove the 2 bolts at the bottom of the bezel, then pry the bezel off (takes some force)

2) for basic wiring help/diagramshttp://www.installdr.com/

and the specific wiring harness diagramhttp://www.installdr.com/Harne...g.pdf

Theres also detailed diagrams of the bose speaker and factory amp diagrams kicking around somewhere in the forum

3/4) Not sure about those, sorry. All i know is the wheels have to be 6 bolt with 5.5 bolt pattern 4" centre bore and a 3.5"-4" backspacing (taken right from fuelers mouth lol)

Sounds like a rear axle bearing. Though I've never heard of one going out on an R50.

I have the exact same problem. I don't find it that loud, but when the music is off, and from about idle to 2,500 rpm , generally between 10km/h and 90km/h.it sounds like a softer supercharger whine. comming from the rear end. It almost sounds like the fuel pump....possible?
