R50 pathfinder offroad build

Hey, i am a big fan of r50 pathys and im thinking about buying one to build off road, i will be looking for -100k km on the vehicle and doing a complete build with lift, lockers spacers tires rims ect + some performance stuff to the motor

Im a fan of the automatic with the 3.5 but should i look for a standard?
I have seen multiple ideas for lifts ect. I just need to know the best route here before i waste a pile of money on garbage parts. Ive also been browsing and seen custom built suspension components for these made by people but it was old posts if anyone is still doing this let me know thanks.
