I recently bought an Australian version(RHD) 2004 Pathfinder SE with a VG33E engine and auto trans (VIN JN1VAWR50A0201295).
All things considered it's a pretty good vehicle but there is something bothering me - I cannot find the upstream O2 sensors.
I have a consult plug and downloaded the workshop manual from nicoclub.com
---
There are only 2x grey 3-pin O2 sensor connectors fitted in the engine bay, just behind the oil fill cap.
The downstream ("Heated O2 sensor 2 Bank 1/Bank 2")sensors are both in place on the downpipes from the manifolds to the catalytic convertors, and connected to the 2x grey connectors.
Using Nissan Datascan software and a Consult plug, I was confident that the grey O2 connectors are actually for the upstream sensors, so now disconnected.
The upstream O2 sensors are nowhere to be found, and I cannot see holes (or hear any leaking exhaust) where they were previously fitted.
The heatshields over the manifolds do not have holes punched where an O2 sensor might go either.
Everything in the engine bay looks OEM, stock vehicle no mods whatsoever. Previous owner was an old Korean lady...
Totally mystified
Anyone understand what is the story with this vehicle?
Thanks,
John
