Is it just me but to our interiors collect dust really easily. I just cleaned out my interior and only minutes later the dash/gauge cluster/center console are covered in dust. For some reason a lot of dust accumulates by the ebrake handle and around the ac controls. I whip them off with a cloth but only seconds later its covered in dust. I dont live in a dusty atmosphere at all, and I was jw if you had the same issues as well?

Yeah, my '98 gets dusty pretty easily. I'm in Northern NJ and it's not terribly dusty, but about a week after a good cleaning, I generally need to wipe it down again.

I need to do some heavy duty cleaning on the inside as it's been sadly neglected as of late.

Anybody have suggestions on a good small detailing vacuum or a good leather restorer? The seats are really cracked and creased in placed and want to bring them up to snuff again.

what kind of "cloth" are you dusting with?

If it is just a regular rag, chances are you are only pushing the dust around. You need something like a Swiffer(R) cloth or something that is meant to trap dust.

Do you have pets? Pet dander can be a real bugar and goes everywhere.

Another good measure is to vacuum before you dust. The vacuuming will probably stir up dust and cause it to settle on the freshly dusted areas giving it a dusty appearance.

You can also have dust in your AC ducts and it is time to replace the pollen filter behind the glove box.

If the dust is white in appearance, that usually means dead skin cells (aka dry skin cuz of winter). If it is brownish, that would mean dust/dirt. If it is black, then you live near a coal burning power plant.

Many Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo, etc... owners only trust their interiors to Leatherique.

http://www.leatherique.com/

I've used it on my QX4's interior when it started to crack and split on the door edge of the driver's seat and it worked well. It really restored the leather's appearance and feel and halted whatever damage that was beginning.

Thanks, Andrew. I'll check it out. Mine is pretty wrecked. It's grey leather, cracked and very yellow in a lot of spots along the drivers outside edge.

Fortunately it hasn't ripped yet. Just very cracked and scaly looking.

Yea, my front two seats look like s*** with dirt engraved in them. Its very hard to get dirt out of beige in interiors.

How hard would it be to re-paint my seats using duplicolor leather/vinyl paint

Haha, sucker. I pulled my seats out (when I pulled the entire interior out for cleaning) and just steamed the seats and they smell and look amazing, like brand spankin new.
