I decided to down grade a little bit. I have a 5 channel JL amp with a single ported 12w6 but I need my trunk space back. Has anyone tried to put an amp in the compartment under the carpet in the back? I've seen one on cardomain that looked like it was pretty modified to make a bigger amp work. I just need a small 4 channel amp in there to power my component set and rear door speakers.

Any info would be great, if you have it done let me know what amp your using so I can try to figure out dimensions Thanks!

Perfect thanks man. That amps almost the exact same size as the 4 channel. I liked my last kicker so I'll just go with that one. Controls on the top of it will work out nice to once its in and mounted.

I did get the kicker 350.4 amp in there. Hasn't over heated yet. It's been in there over a week or so. We went on a 4 hour trip with it and didn't have an issue. The lid touches my amp but only kind of and hasn't been an issue at all. I probably wouldn't put a sub amp in there, I think a mono block would over heat if you were really cranking the subs for a period of time.

I have the amp in there with 2 CDT crossovers. I cut out a couple slots for the cables so they wouldn't be crushed in the lid or popping up. Works great and I got all my cargo space back

I currently have a kenwood head unit, the kicker 4 channel, CDT Components up front and alpine type r speakers in the rear doors. All 4 doors dynamatted. Sounds good. It's taken me a while to get use to not having bass.
