what do you guys do with your trucks other then commuting? yea..sounds like a dumb question (4x4 duh) but really...i think its worth asking

i am somewhat intrigued by offroading and climbing obsticles, howevereven the tiniest chip is all it takes to ruin my day....what i do to amuse myself sometimes is toss it in rwd and let the rear tires play

in the summer i just roll around the streets system up and dark tints rolled up, sunroof open, and drive around fast. But the winter is play time. I love when we get snowstorms im out fishtailing everywhere and blasting pasts civics stuck in the snow. Last year my buddy kept laughing at how much i paid for gas and finally one morning i drive by his house and hes digging his car out of the snow cuz he cant make it out his driveway....so i just drive ontop of the 2ft snowbank on his driveway say get in and BLAST out of there, no problem.

high gas prices make it worth it in the winter....god i love it.

i loved suv's first when i was a kid...that one year toronto had to call in the army to dig us out...i help my dad shovel out the grand prix out of the snow...and get stuck getting out.....then i see a cherokee just blast around us, like nothing. ahhh what a great memory...now i do that all the time in the winters :p

yep us SUV drivers can be real pricks

oh btw....another great thing to do in the qx4's (cuz its the LUXURY pathfinder) is throw a humidor inside it and smoke a cigar while driving down the 410, like your tony soprano or something...if only i had some 22's and a humidor...lmao

Where I live theres not much to do, so all the town kids hang out at the gas station and cause trouble, so I like to leave and slam gears and let the cai do all the talkin. They probably think their older brothers ford sounds cool, but they love the sound of a pathfinder. I know. lol

But yeah winters are great in N.H. everyones in there subarus doin 25-30 and I just pass them and drift on every corner. It took me a lil while to learn the art of doing donuts, but I got it down. Fun stuff...

I really need to grow up, gas prices are outrageous. NOT!

i do that, but with some sort of funny smelling cigar that looks like it has been cut open and modified in some way.

I used to launch it off stuff, but I sold mine last April. But I still launch the thing I have now, and offroad as much as possible. . even tho it's a car.

Honestly, I was going to go bankrupt if I kept the QX4... I'll wait until this "war on terror" is over and then shop for another.

Cigar modification, to me a cigar isnt a cigar unless its modified. for a cigar to be over canadas legal limit the cigar needs to be pretty big.Depending on your officer and honesty factor. Drive safe take what you use, or develop an amazing hiding spot.

I stopped going off pavement in mine when I decided to drive down by the river with it, and got it stuck. . granted, it was stock with the dueler H/T tires and non-locking diff, etc. Lifted 6" and with the correct tires, it would have been good. .

....

But uhh. . I got it stuck so bad I had to go rent a treaded Bobcat to dig it out. A guy showed up and helped me with it. . fortunate, because the dam had just been opened and in 24 hours the water would been over my roof.

The only time I can really get the rear wheels spinning is if I just came out of a car wash and the tires are all wet. The thing barely has the power to get out of it's own way.

HOWEVER

4 Low range is great for applying the V6 torque to certain situations. I don't get to do a lot off of roading. My girlfriend and I did a little impromptu off roading last time we were in the rockies because...well...it's fun times. But mostly the truck is used for navigating the urban jungle. My adventures consist of

1. Using the thing to get all my band's equipment in. We can get 3 4X12 cabs in there, 3 amps, and a 15" bass bin, as well as all our stands, pedal boards, and guitars in the hard cases in there. The only thing we can't fit in there is the drum kit. That's pretty good for a 5 piece metal band.

2. Using the thing to drive over curbs and whatever else is in the way when I'm trying to get somewhere that's blocked by some obstical.

3. PLAYING IN THE SNOW! The QX4 is really second to none in it's segment and most other SUV's and pickups when it comes to snow. Only other Nissans, the FJ, and Jeeps outclass me in the white stuff.

4. Moving cars around...

that's right....

I said moving cars around...

So most people who park a stick either do so with the parking brake or leave it in 1st. This has come in handy with the parallel parking in front of my girlfriend's building. Sometimes you get some jerk that you could easily have fit behind if he had only moved up a few more feet. So those two little plastic black pads on the front of the bumper get placed nice and flush behind the other person's vehicle and then I switch to 4L, and just gently nudge that vehicle forward until I can fit in that space comfortably. To this date, I have not damaged anyones vehicle or even left dirt marks. And as for the plastic pads on the front of the QX they are very resiliant pieces. I happen to know from one incident where my truck decided to hump a right-turning minivan that if heated, they will pop back out like a milk jug. True story. I (yes my stupid fault) rear ended a guy and crushed the black pieces of the bumper in. The temperature increased quite a bit over the next two days, and the bumper slowly retained it's natural shape over those couple of days.

...the self healing truck...I love it.

This was up in banff...great for taking snowboarding, and all the equipment fits easy. The heated seats make winter almost bearable.

I also had 8 girls in there once...
