That is a rumor, and is not true. Chris (MinisterOfDoom) and I talked to Trey Cobb from Cobb Tuning about this because they had aftermarket wheels on their R35. He said that it's all rumors. The only thing it does is cause a dash light saying there is a malfunction with the wheel sensors, but does not affect the car "starting" or even driving for that matter.

Also, he said just like any other wheel, you can pull the tires off and swap the sensors onto new rims with no problem.

Porsche's Tire Pressure system does the same thing. Without the sensors in the wheels either factory or aftermarket, there is a warning displayed for "flat tire" and bells and gongs and messages of eminent doom that simply will not go away until sensors are present. I believe model year '09 and on ALL cars will have to have a tire pressure system of some sort.

thats still alot of money for some wheels $3000.00 for the front and $3200.00 for the rear and thats not including the run flats.

but it does look good to me
