So I'm an idiot...let's just put that out there right now, and avoid it later.

I stepped on the gas a little too hard and really shot the RPM's up around 7k. When this happened, the car backfired of course, but I lost most of the power in my car. I was able to limp it home, but when I let off the gas, the car accelerates ever so slightly, but when I step on the gas, the car barely gets over 3k rpm, and it won't go over 10mph. I'm guessing that I either blew a turbo, f$#% up something internally in the motor, or I just blew a hose somewhere (which I can't find). Before I send her to a mechanic, anyone have any ideas??

Please lay off the flaming...I realize I did a stupid thing, and I'm a rooke, etc, etc. I still have to solve the problem though, I have my ego in my hands right now...lol.

Update: Good news, bad news situation.

Went home to have the car flatbedded down to the mechanics this morning. The car wouldn't even crank over or maintain idle. I made sure the towing company send a flatbed with a "beaver tail" so the car would clear nicely. I even had 2x4's available to put under the wheels to avoid ripping off the bumper. He hooked the car from the tow hook in the rear. I was in the car holding the wheel straight and as a safety in case the chain let go. Guess what? After all of that...he ripped off the front bumper anyways...WTF?? They will luckily insure the damages, and I can finally get the C-West front bumper that I wanted anyways.

The other news is that with the bumper off, I was able to see that the FMIC hose on the left side (by the BOV) was mysteriously disconnected. I must have built up too much pressure, like an idiot...but I re-connected the hose right there, checked the other hoses...and wa la...it cranked right over and idles great. Just when I thought I was starting to add up what a set of new turbos was going to cost me, I lucked out...no more showing off ever!!! I guess I chose my screen name wisely.

P.S - does anyone know of a way to reinforce or properly replace these hoses in hopes of strenghening them???

That actually happened to me once....the tube from the right fender (just passed the BOV point) to the intake plenum popped off on me.

Noticed it right away, but was a nasty "oh no oh no oh no oh no" moment while I stopped along the road when it happened.

Yeah, my heart sank as I was milking it the 1/4 mile home...luckily it was only a 1/4 mile. I was too exhausted to really check it out when I finally got in the garage, but safe to say, I didn't sleep well last night. My mind kept racing about what the damages might be. Today is much more relaxing, although I just tried to order my new front bumper and they told me it would take 3-4 months to get here...can anyone get me a C-West N1 front bumper II quicker than that???

The towing company's insurance company sent out an appraiser today. I provided him with pictures, pricing, and the suppliers to call for a similar replacement bumper. He almost choked, but I convinced him that it was significantly cheaper than trying to get an OEM R34 GTR cover. He wrote up the estimate, and cut me a check. I guess it pays that the towers were very obliging, and that I am a licensed auto appraiser here in CT, so I had my **** together. I did request that they bring a "beaver-tail" flat bed, and I provided them with the 2x4's to put under the wheels...so it was all on them.

I ordered the C-West front cover through SpeedZone in Fla, they assured me that I will have it by Thurs (7/19)...we'll have to wait and see.

Is your Skyline State and Federal legal, or just State?

If it's only State legal, and the tow trucks company finds out it's as such, you might run into some problems. Not saying you will, but it could be possible. They paid damages on a car that isn't supposed to be here, so just be aware of what could happen.
