R33 GTS-T LSD Question

I have a couple of questions about the R33 GTS-T lsd and I think you guys can help me. I just ordered an R33 lsd from Venus-Auto and just got it yesterday. I have heard that the lsd had a 5 bolt flange to the axles, but mine came with a 6 bolt flange and 8 bolts holding the rear cover. The axles came with 6 bolt flange too, but they wont line up. Does anybody know what lsd I have with those information provided or further informations are needed? Will this lsd bolt up and what should I do about the axles. Thanks

You did not get an R33 lsd diff. You are right the R33 lsd have 5 bolt axle flange. It sounds like you got a diff from a big VIP car aka(Y32,Y33,Nissan Cedric or Gloria) It may not work. Try getting axles from a Infinti Q45 I think there' the same. Also check to see what gear ratio you have by opening the diff up and counting the pinion gear teeth and ring gear teeth. R33 gts-t have 4:1 gear ratio. Y32,Y33 may have a higher gear ratio not good for quick take off which may suck!!

Thanks for your help. I guess Ill just have to crack it open to see the gear ratio and get new axles if Venus-Auto doesn't take back the lsd. Thanks again.

Why would you open it to find out the ratio? That can be calculated easily from the outside without opening anything.

the 6 bolt maybe from a silvia. I have an R33 VLSD with axles arriving on Monday from http://www.mckinneymotorsports.comIt is supposed to be 5 bolt, so I will see for sure on Monday.

That leads me to believe that you may have the silvia 6 bolt LSD. You may want to give them a call and see if they can get you some axles it you can't get what you need from venus.
