I have the RB25 in my 91 240sx and i was wondering how many people used the R33 gauge cluster. And also do you like it better then the original cluster.........Is it worth the trouble? Currently my original cluster is way off on RPM and MPH so i was going put in the R33.

You could buy the speedo and tach from lsauto for about $200 and you just screw them into your S13 cluster. Tach will work, and speedo will be 180MPH

If you go with the R33 cluster, you have to wire it it, it doesn't fit well, and your speedo will be in KPH.

Not really worth it in my opinion, but I also want my car to look as stock as possible.

did i mention i was getting the R33 cluster for $75, I figured i'd put little numbers next to KPH numbers and convert then into MPH that way I would have a better idea of how fast i was going. And theres got to be somthing i could do to make it fit better............I hope. I was wanting to keep the stock look to.

I have the R33 cluster. Doesn't fit rigth since there is a gap on either side of about 1/2" but I don't care. I don't even notice it anymore. As for KM to MPH it's really easy. Just take the speed that the KM speedo reads and drop the last 0 off the end. So if it reads 60 KPH you drop teh 0 and you have 6. Take 6 X 6 = 36 mph. Another example.90 KPH9 X 6 = 54 MPH.120 KPH12 X 6 = 72 MPH

Since the speedo reads 10-20-30--------160-170-180 I don't bother with 65-75-85 KPH. It's really easy to get used to.Also the KPH speedo moves pretty dam fast and is fun to watch.

LOL

I think I would probably rear end someone, looking down at my gauge cluster and then counting on my fingers and toes

I was going to say its the cheapest way to get your gauges to work right but i realized you are buying yours so i don't know how valid that statement would be in your case. and for whoever mentioned the looking stock issue, my cluster looks like it was put in there at the Nissan Plant. For the S13 it might not look as good with the whole gap issue.

Are they 110mph gauge faces? I really would like to get my stock(R33) speedo to read in MPH. Even though i probably will never hit 180mph, its nice to see it

It says 180mph. They have them for the r32 also. Search under skyline speedo face.

First off --old thread i know lol sorry

--Kamin-- I read you have the r33 cluster I got my r33 cluster with my clip and have been planning on using it the whole time. I spent a few hours following all the circuit labels on the back of both cluster and made myself a guide and wired it all up. and then for the first time since the ka came out I gave her power yesterday. having nothing on the upper harness connected except for the m63/f4 plug. I turn the key to the on position and the gauge backlights come on and the airbag light (which I no longer have) comes on. tail lights work, my headlights are taken out so i dont know about them, the door chimes work but nothing on the cluster (except the air bag light).

Sooo... my questions (to those that are using the r33 cluster) do you think my wiring is wrong or is nothing turning on because i have nothing plugged in?

ps. I have check and rechecked my m63/f4 wiring so I feel it is correct. I also grounded the cluster to the ka cluster ground wires, does it need a better ground?
