Hey, as some of you know i just got ahold of a R33 SII RB25 series motor from venus, and they sent me the transmission crossmember and Front crossmember.

Will either of these two bolt up to the s chasis? And if so how well does it fit and or will the stock mounts work.

I've done a search on this and i didnt find an answer.

you mount the r33 engine crossmember inplace of the 240's. you must use the rb's mount that come with the motor. the ka's stock mounts are different.

yes. but if you need, you can modify the ka mounts. Kamin did that because one of his was busted.

...and the glue didnt hold it together when he tried to repair it

So if i buy new R33 RB25DET Engine and transmission mounts to replace the busted ones i dont need to buy mounts from top hat? For even the transmission mount? and there wont be any clearance issues for the R33 cross member?

Again my main issues are Clearance on the firewall and on the hood, as far as the top goes, im going to be using the top hat intake manifold. Here is a pic of the crossmember that came with my engine set.

Also, will the power steering rack and assembly and anything else bolt on?Modified by Kansei240sx at 4:31 PM 9/21/2005

No, you will still have to modify the crossmember and engine mounts. I had originally done this with my swap by drilling new mounting holes in the crossmember 1 inch towards the firewall and cutting 1in of height out of the engine mounts. Unfortunately, when I welded the mounts back together, the rubber isolator on the top part of the mount separated from the metal. I didn't know how to fix it so I just said **** it and had some McKinney mounts overnighted to me. There's a series of threads on this mounting strategy over on 240sxforums.com. Search for a thread started by Boardman. Yes, the power steering rack will bolt onto the R33 crossmember but you'll have to monkey around with the hardlines to make it clear the oil pan. My advice is to figure out which crossmember/mounting strategy you want to use FIRST and then start bending the hardlines. I didn't and it really came back to bite me in the *** afterwards.

i did some more looking at the crossmember, and there are some bends and a crack in it, so im just going through with top hats mount kit , thanks for the info guys.

It's been awhile since I have been under my car but I think the speed sensor is a 3 wire sensor. The sensor near the shifter is the reverse light switch. The RB25 transmission also has a netural sensor that I didn't wire up (But would work well for a remote start system.
