I just bought a r33 cluster for my s13 and I figured out how to wire up everything but the boost gauge. I already have an aftermarket boost gauge but I hate how everything else works and that little needle just sits there Can anyone shed some light on the situation? thanks!

I believe you have to use the stock boost sensor. That is how mine is hooked up.

I doubt its in the FSM since they only cover engine stuff. Its really just there for the cluster. On my halfcut it was mounted on the right strut tower. Its a small black box with, I believe, a 3 wire plug and a vac input. It looks pretty much like any sensor for an electronic boost gauge.

The boost solenoid youre talking about is the brass one right on the left side right?

do you have pictures of the R33 cluster installed in your S13? and what diagram or link did you use to wire the cluster up? a friend of mien said he will sell me the R33 cluster for cheap if i want to attempt to wire the cluster into my car. i want to see how involved it is before i purchase it. ive wired a few integra clusters into a few civics before (including 2 of my own hatchbacks).

Yes the boost solenoid i was talking about is the one on the left side that attatches to the wastegate

As for how difficult the cluster was to install it was pretty simple and straight foward. All the wires are labeled on the back of the clusters its just a matter of cutting off your stock plugs and splicing on the skyline plugs. The cluster did need some trimming to fit, i think i just cut off about an inch around the whole thing and it fits snug and dosnt move at all even though none of the mounting holes line up. If you take your time and use your head its pretty easy to install

hxc_nismo, do you have the solenoid for the wastegate or the sensor for the gauge? i already have the solenoid but if you meant the sensor, how much would you want for it?

off topic, but does your speedo and tach work correctly? If so do you have the stock S13 Diff or something other?

i have the stock skyline diff that came with my rb25 installed. The tach and speedo both work and i think theyre pretty darn accurate, the speedo may be off a tad but its in km/h anyways so oh well

What Ive seen done on kmh speedos is to use a dryerase marker and put ticks where the major speedlimits are at. Makes it easier to see in a glance, but you will get used to looking at clicks and translating it to mph.
