I was bored, these are the R33 brakes I ordered after I cleaned the ****e out of them. They were nasty.

The backplate dust shield was bent to hell.

The rear conversion completed but not installed after banging out the dust shield. will not install till I pick suspension. I got lucky, the product was desribed as having cut e-brake cables and mine were good.

R33 front brake rotor are the same diameter as the rears, 300mmX30mm unlike the R32's which are quite a bit smaller than the rear(I didn't know) am wondering if I'll have wheel fitment issues later.

Calipers after paint, I went with red(I know it's a little played out but...)and hand brushed silver on the letters and then cleared over both using engine emamel. I hope it sticks I've had bad luck with the so called good brush on ****e.

I also painted the wheels, I really want to keep the stockers to keep it looking plain from a distance. God I hope they fit with the brakes.

Anyways, I'll keep you all updated as I continue to make progress with my new toy.

if you do the r33/z32 brake conversion you can't run normal s13 suspension?

you can, the only issue is probably to redrill the rotor from 4 to 5 lugs if it applies to you

these brakes rock.

direct bolt on INCLUDING the hubs. the only modification required is the rear brake lines (R33 ones work) and a simple plate for the ebrake cables to line up properly above the driveshaft.

are you planning on upgrading your MC? i have run into the problem of heavy rear bias durring extreeme braking conditions.

EDIT:i see your rear brake lines are cut >< do you have the conversion lines then?

oh, and nice house location. i'd be fishing while that paint dried. would be killer.

Can you give me more info on the plate location for the ebrake cable?

I want to get the 17/16" MC the one in the car is a 15/16". The ones available at autozone are 1" so following the path of least resistance I may go with the 1".

I have ordered new lines front and rear from PDM racing.

what MC do you use, do you think it contributes to your heavey rear bias?

Thanks.

there two ways to go when doing the back, if you source the whole rear rotor, caliper, backplate, hub and knuckle all put together than yes you will have to run 300zx struts. 300zx struts use a forked or horseshoe bottom while the 240sx (s14)uses a eye or doughnut bottom. I just got the backplate, rotors, calipers and hub and assemnbled it onto my knuckle. Only problem was it was a b1tch seperating the hub, I had to use a 8lb hammer.

props to the importnut definitive guide to the 300zx brake swap. Came in very handy.

interesting. mine bolted right up (rear knuckles).

but i can not certify that mine were the whole hub assy from an r33. my friend had them on his s13 in japan, he said he just bolted them on from the R33, LCA and all. my coilovers bolted right up and all.

i'll try to get my plate out tonight, make a mock up on some cardboard or paper so i can make these later but i'll give you the info. it's beyond simple and works like a champ. all it does is mount the R33 ebrake cables closer to the splitter.
