Im very aware the questions has "kind of" been answered for me (uncle google wasn't very much help lol)..

ok so.. as above, I have an R33 4 door GTS (yes, the stinky rb20e auto one), and Ive been researching what factory Nissan shock and spring combo would lower my car a little... You know.. like how the S13 shocks dropped an A31 cefiro by about 40mm?.. well Im on the hunt for something that would do the same for R33.

Ive found that s14 rear shocks will fit, but the fronts wont. My question is, does anyone know why the s14 fronts wont fit?.. is it only a matter of changing the top hats? or is it more than that?...

any replies appreciated.

It looks like the lower mounting is different. S14 bolts to the knuckle, and maybe R33 bolts to the lower control arm?

Ah right, yeah that seems to explain itself.. Ok so.. 300ZX fronts are the "only" ones that fit are they?...

Or does anyone know if I can use an S14 shock insert in my factory shock housing?...

Take a look at Infiniti G20 front shocks. They share a very similar design for the front shocks. I just don't know the exact dimensions. Just remember, they won't be valved correctly.

Ah right yeah they are too.. Over here in New Zealand they're referred to as a P11 Primera..
