quick Q, my current mount situation is so far out of hand that i am debating getting my money back, i have not seen the new mckinney motor mounts yet but i hear they are nice just very pricey, my next alternative is to use r32 x member, and nismo mounts, but which engine brackets do i use ? should i use the KA ones, or the RB ones ? i have seen the r32 xmember for 100bux, and nismo mounts for 150 which is lesser than my current mount setup which is roughly 350, and the mckinney is like 500, i know carl h used that solution do you happen to have pics ?

dude, I did it with rb brackets and ka nismos. Mine sits really high, and I had problems with the bov and top inake pipe on my 20. I cut out pretty much all of the hood support to fit it.

I got the r32 cross member with the nismo mounts using the rb20 brackets on my s14 and had zero clearance issues with the hood. I solved the normal steering shaft issue with a custom down pipe. I'm really happy with how the engine sits.

Are you running a 20 or a 25?

I'm running R32 x member with r32 mounts and brackets in an S13. No real issues with hood clearance. Throttle body rubs ever so slightly on hood insulation/bracing.

I don't know if this same set up would work with the 25.

As far as mounts go, my stock R32 RB20 mounts appear to be solid rubber blocks. I have had no issues with engine movement. However, the crappy stock trans mount could definitely use upgrading. Long story short, i you're running the rb20, I'd stick with the R32 x member/mounts and try to source the RB mount brackets that you're missing.

I've got a 25 with the R33 X-member and NISMO mounts. It is a close fit, but if I ditched the stock IM I would be golden. HTH.
