While giving my RS13 a fresh drink of 15w-50, my buddy Jay turns to me and asked if I wanted to put the GTR rollcage in the 86. This, being one of those tasks that is going to take all day, if not two, sounded like my kind of task.
Skyline GT-R rollcage in an 86? Yea, it fits just fine, if you have an angle grinder, a welder, a blow torch, a couple mallets, a cargo strap, a drill a a socket set.
Jay's R32 was a beautiful thing, seen in the pictures below. Now, if you've ever been in one, you'd know they are a tad more spacious than a Corolla.
With the sun setting over the small town of Bruchmuhlbach, Germany. Jay and I got to work.
We didnt have much time to finish this first day, as 10pm is quiet hrs and we really didnt feel like dealing with the police, so with this in mind, Jay got himself pumped up...
While I carried the stuff to the car =/
The cars interior was quickly stripped and we got right to work, looking at how the pieces fit and seeing/measuring where to cut on the body and on the cage. By the end of the day, we got all but one piece fitted correctly, we should have it all mounted by Friday, as I have to work =/
Just in case you wanted to know what his motor looks like, heres a snap of it:
