If it smokes only intermittently, then I'm guessing whatever is happening is in small amounts. that's why I suggest keeping a close watch on your coolant level whenever the engine is cool. If you find yourself adding coolant to keep it full and there are no drips of coolant on the ground where you parked overnight, that suggests something is letting coolant into the combustion chamber, And head gaskets are the most common suspect as they do not normally last forever, and you have an old car. It certainly might be something else, but without inspecting it, we can only guess.
Now, if the white smoke only occurs while the engine is cold, that might just be condensation (moisture) in the exhaust, which is not a problem. That should disappear after the car warms up and is common when doing doing short trips; the engine car does not warm up enough to eliminate the moisture. If that's what's happening (hopefully), then the fix is to drive the car more, which is a good thing in an R32
If the smoke you see is bluish instead of white, then it might possibly be worn valve seals, which consumes oil.
