The answer is no. Read this and you'll know why.

Exactly. For some people, it's worth the risk of spending that much coin on a car that can be bought for cheap over here. For others, it's not.

We don't say not to buy a Skyline to have it imported. We say, know what you are getting into, it's uuber hard to get it federally legal (R33's), and be aware of shady importers/sellers who claim their car is 100% legal.

TMO is pretty laid back but only because they likely don't care not because it is legit. i know several people who TMOed engines and parts back but not complete cars. Doesn't mean they won't though. Even if they do getting it there is the easy part

Bud, you are not the first in a long line of active/former military members that have tried/thought of this. It is easy to get it shipped back, yes, but it's still an impossible mission to get it legalized.

Case in point: Guy on my ship while I was in the Navy had an R32 T 4 door. He transfered to Hawaii in 2000, tried getting the car shipped to Hawaii. As far as I know, he still hasn't got the car shipped there, it's still sitting on base in Yokosuka, he goes back once every 6 months or so to move it to a different parking lot so it doesn't get impounded.

Yeah, grey marketting is a toughie. But hey, at least its possible.

Here in canada we still have to wait a few months before even the non-gtr R32s are legal, stupid 15 year laws. But at least the 15 year old ones are fully legal. It'd be nice if people brought in ones that weren't total pieces of crap JDM is a dirty word nowadays.

ok so when i read the post about importing it you can classify it as a show or racing car and not for street purpose now with this i think i can bring it back but it would be a trailer queen which is ok by me i already have an s13 for daily back in cali so im not worried about it. so my question is now is that part of the post true?

If I remember correctly, if you import it as a show car, you have to list dates and specific locations of the car shows in advance.
