R32 cluster again....

I am sure some people are sick of me asking and yes I have searched, but I am still a little confused.

This is for a rb20det swap into an 89 S13.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I can tell the s13 cluster gets some of its gauge signals from the KA ecu harness. These include Tach, and Temp from what I can tell so far.

I am assuming that the Rb20det ecu harness will have a connector breaking off to give tach and coolant temp signals to the r32 cluster. Is this correct?

Now as for the fuel gauge, illumination, and most of the warning lights they seem to be wired into the car so I am hoping that I can just splice those out of the s13 dash harness to there matching wires from the back of the r32 cluster.

For the speedo I will of course be using the cable so I hope it should funtion properly. " I will just have to adapt to the metric system"

And for the added gauges " boost, and oil pressure" I am hoping that they will break off of the rb20 ecu harness as well. ???

If anyone could let me know if I am headed in the right direction it would be very helpful.

I believe for the RB20 cluster you may be able to swap the Speedometer out of the S13 cluster, and then put the KA sender in the rb transmission. this way you would have a correct speedometer.And you don't have to use the cable, you can just use the KA wiring.

all the rest of the gauge wiring you should should just be able to match up the wires on the back and get it to work. The RB and KA cluster both are labeled on the back, so just trace the wires and get to splicing.

it is not that cut and dry.all the wires on the ka cluster have to be rewired to work for the rb cluster should you choose to mount it.also you CANNOT swap in the ka speedo into the rb cluster as the cluster is much diffrent than the ka (wiring mount points, ect).also you will have to run wires for the boost pressure sensor for the boost gauge to work as well as wires for the oilpressure sensor.if you want AIM me at psykodragoon about this and i can answer questions you may have
