Just wondering if this is possible. I will be building a project s13, and I would much prefer the dash from either the r32 or r33 over the 180sx/silvia, but i'm not sure if the firewall will work, or if the dash will be anywhere near fitting. The welding for the firewall isn't a problem since it will be done while the car is already stripped and at the welder's getting the cage built. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,Anthony

p.s. before you flame me for being a day old member, i've been on this particular board for several months, the 240sx forum before that, and the mr2 board for over a year, and am nowhere near ignorant about these cars, or what i'm getting myself into.

Yes you can do it, hope you are mechanically inclined and have deep pockets.

The welder is a family friend so the full cage and the firewall, as well as any other welding I may want done, will be VERY close to free. He builds his dirt track cars, so i'm not afraid to put these critical parts in his hands. I'll already have the r32 or r33 (most likely r33) front clip already since i'll be buying it for my motor, so it would also be cheaper than doing the s13 RHD.......that is........if the firewall and dash fit/have mostly the same holes and mounts as the s13......

I doubt the mounting holes are the same, you probably have to do a good bit of cutting/welding and maybe some fiberlglass molding if you want the dash to look factory fit.

Its quite a bit of work, but since you are getting it done free then by all means proceed with the RB25 conversion. Its one of the better swaps.

where the dash meets up with the door panel might not fit too well

I'm not getting everything done free... I'm only getting the WELDING done very cheap, everything is will be done in my "shop." I suppose i'll have to find a good fiberglasser and get the dash recovered (didn't really want to have to do that). Also, I'm thinking that I will be MUCH better off just buying a RHD s13 firewall to use, but anymore info on this conversion is appreciated.

Thanks again,Anthony
