these interest me. they are pretty unique i think. what major problems did they have if any? are they good for drifting?
were they plagued by rust lol. the car is over 25 years of age so would there be problems bringing it over to the us?

I know the chances of you actually getting your hands on one are infinitesimal, but if by some strange nexus of fate you did, and you started drifting it and smashing it into things I would find you and beat you to death with an FJ20, wait, too short, make that an L20 con rod.

The four doors drifted well, I know first hand. The two doors had no b-pillars and flexed a lot without a cage. They are very rusty now, I know that first hand too. The steering idler arm would need replacement by now, the bushing failed after about 20 years. The FJ20s suffered from top timing chain slop when the oil pressurized tensioner weakened. The L20s suffered from very little but would have benefited from an intercooler. They were great cars but they are a few years shy of qualifying as museum pieces.

If you crave that 80's box style, look into the Leopard. You got them in the states as the Infiniti M30. They readily accept an RB swap and are a nice sliding platform.

Never seen it done but they compare very similar to the R31s so I would suspect the RB would go in without much trouble. Why go RB when you could go L?

Found you an R31 screwing around. You can smash one of those up if you like.

You will never understand until you feel one. The L is the ish and always will be. The RB26 is nice but I don't like $1300 oil pumps, cooling mods, and short deck short stroke motors.

The RB26 will enjoy as long a life as the L, no doubt. 20 years from now you guys will be trying to explain the feeling of a badass RB26 to youngsters tuning electric cars. Try to be patient with them.

Until then, let grandpa spead the L love. That's 350hp, no turbo, all motor, two valve head, 1970's castings.

Hmm.. L28 block with the original L24 head, nom nom...

If you going with a RB with sub 500 hp go with the RB25...
