Here are some pics of the R2C intakes made for a G37 coupe installed in the M37. I had to make a couple extra brackets to extend them to the OEM mounting holes and replace one of the hoses but otherwise it fits pretty well. It's a little snug but nothing that will cause any harm. The stock filters that were in the car were probably never changed. I'm sure it was the clean filters that made the most difference but I know that when it was on the G, it made the throttle response a little snappier. I could have spray painted the brackets black but got lazy.

Nice. I gambled with the G37 version that went through in front of the radiator.

Are you talking about takeda or stillen gen 3? I opted for the short ram intake because of the ease of install.

The Takeda.
nice. I had the R2C intakes for my G already and figured it wouldn't take much to make it fit the M.

The intakes really add a nice grunt to the motor...but I know people in the luxury market are looking for less sound, not more.

How bad is the heat soak with these units? Most CAI's lose power...any of that happening here? Also, is the filter oil based?

It still retains the factory ram air cowl so it is still being supplied with plenty of fresh cool air. The filter is a dry filter. R2C makes air intake filters for military applications.

I am thinking the baffles/shrouds around the filters are an important part of that. I wonder if one would fit my Injen.

What hose did you have to replace? With the shrouds around the filters I think I like this option better. Do you remember the price on this intake and also where did you purchase from?

Edit: I was also looking at these pipes to keep the stock airboxes. Probably wouldn't help power at all but would look better. Made for G37 so *should fit.

The stealership won't try to void your warranty for adding the intakes?

I wonder if these will fit the 5.6..

It won't. I asked RED_DET and he says he's not sure anyone makes a system for the V8.

As for warranty, Magnusson-Moss act would require the dealer to prove that your intake was the issue in any warranty claim (virtually impossible for them to do). Better Business Bureau and Infiniti Corporate would agree with the law, and dealership would be SOL :rotflmao :naughty:

I've searched a lot and nothing for V8 for intakes so far.

Awful for not fitting and good to know about the warranty thing even though I won't have the issue since no one makes anything for the V8 :tisk:

I bought the intake barely used from a G37 member that was selling his car for a really good price. I couldn't pass it up. They go for around 300 new. The hose you have to replace is a breather or vent hose on the driver's side intake. The stock hose is a formed hose that isn't long enough. All you need is a 5/16 rubber house about 7 inches long so that it won't kink when you bend it.

The intake hoses, imo, are to help smooth out the factory ribbed intake, but more for appearance than anything else. they're just a tad less expensive than a short ram intake so I, personally would spend a bit more to get a SRI. Otherwise I would get K&N drop in filters.

I honestly, would think that anything intake made for the G37 would fit the M37. I'm really surprised no one has tried anything other than the Takeda CAI.

I wouldn't use K&N filters without care...they are known to blow Nissan/Infiniti MAF hot wires.

With regular cleaning, they are fine to use. I have them in my wife's e91 and I've used them in other applications without any issue as well. I've never used them with Nissans though but I can't imagine it would be anything different from other vehicles. Also, they have their famous million mile warranty, so if they are known to cause issues, you should be able to bring it up with K&N.

Never had an issue with K&N, used them on all my cars (All Nissans) since '95. For any aftermarket filter you can't over oil them, that's what will do in the MAF.

Will probably get 2 K&Ns on the M when they need replacing.

Have a K&N cone on my KA-T S13 and standard K&N on wife's Murano currently.

K&N is a good compnay, only reason why I stopped using them is when I did my oil analysis through blackstone they said my filter was dirty and I had just cleaned it so I just use oem filters.

I also switched back to OEM or Purolator ones.

Even with cleaning and proper lubing, I wasn't feeling too confident. But yes, if you maintain anything, it should run well (to your guys' posts - Biggie and CheeseHead lol).
