Hi All,

I just purchased my G37 yesterday afternoon. So glad I was talked out of the 370z!!

Anyway, is it really worth getting the R2C Dual Intake or should I just get 2 K&N drop ins?

I will know later this week. I have K&N drop in's and I have the R2C's sitting in my garage. I'm waiting for the couplers which seemed to be back ordered a few days.

In general, the K&N's don't really add power, they add "cleanability" as you can reuse them instead of spending 60-100 bux or more replacing the factory ones. The R2C's should give better airflow and performance.

Cool, keep me posted on what you prefer and I'll do the same.

Thanks.

Yes, it's worth it! The R2C intake is one of the best built intakes I've seen.

The performance is also top-notch! My hwy MPG went up to around 28-29! I'm sure my city would also go up, if I didn't floor it all the time ;)

Funny, after my high flows were put on I was seeing 28mpg at 75mph+ and 30mpg at 62mph. That's via the car tho, I'll do a hard test when I'm done with everything.

Well, maybe I'll just get it.

Any special tools needed for the install and how hard of an install is this. P-Tuning in Northern VA will charge 169.00 to install.

Thanks.

Install is easy. I'll be doing it this weekend and documenting it if you want to wait. No reason for you not to do it.

Check with tunerzstore.com for pricing. They should have the lowest.

He is right! R2C is the way to go...and RED_DET is the man to buy it from! I love my R2C as well, and cannot say enough about it. The install was relatively simple and straightforward. If you feel that you even FAIRLY competent under the hood of a car (and by this, I mean you can change the oil, and understand basic troubleshooting), then you can have this done in a couple hours. Just know that this is your baby, and you shouldn't rush on it, and everything will be all put together before you know it!

And then it will look and sound even better than it does stock...a little growl to it when you kick the spurs to her!! :naughty: Image

i love my R2C. i feel much better with the paper filters and not over oiling the K&Ns. that can foul up the MAF. it looks great in the engine bay and if i could keep my foot off the gas, Im sure id get better MPG too.

I need to put some miles on it but with the exhaust system on I don't really notice them louder. Per the computer system I seem to be getting better mpg tho.

I give Infiniti the thumbs up for the layout :)

I do plan on painting the blue FSTB mounts because they kinda distract.

Sorry, missed this.

No, it fit easily. You just have to adjust the height so it does not rub the hood liner nor the engine cover.

Honestly, Hotchkis sways would be a better next step. The FSTB is somewhat noticeable but not like the sways.

Just got my R2C, in the polished black nickel finish, no less. Going over the instructions over and over because I don't want to screw up and my free time is so rare, I'll only have a short time to get this installed on the weekends with a curious 5 year-old watching and asking questions. (Those of you with kids know what I mean)

And since the spousal unit frowns on me "messing with my perfectly good car" I better be quick before she catches on!

Was that you I ordered over the phone from? The black nickel finish is way cool looking. :bigthumb:

I pre-assembled what I could at my clean desk at work (just finger tight) so I don't have to worry about dropping nuts and bolts in a dark garage later. I'll be studying audtatious' write-up closely beforehand!

R2C installed today. Not too difficult. The worst part was when I dropped a clamp and had to reach under the car to fetch it. Haven't taken the car out. I'll see what happens when I drive to work tomorrow.
