^^ hah. Please, someone. Anyone. Even if you're in OH or IN, you may be a hero. Better for you to drive 3-4 hrs than the rest of us to drive 15hrs+.

that's a good point, this offer is open to anyone that is willing to come to Vernon Hills, IL to drop off your car. Just keep in mind, this will require three seperate visits.

Looks like you guys are better off taking up a collection. Depending on how much you get, you can put an ad in the paper or have R2C buy a junkyard model that was rear-ended :)

I just spoke to someone around the Chicago area and he seems motivated to contact R2C. Keep our fingers crossed!

I may be buying an 11 56x. I live in the south suburbs of Chicago and may be interested assuming I buy it. I'll let you all know.

What impact will that have on the warranty?

If they can connect your modification with the issue under warranty they can deny warranty coverage for that particular issue. I have taken the same chance with a cat-back exhaust.

Who's Tim? Sorry...don't know many on first name basis lol. My username is my first name, so mine is easy lol.

As for warranty...under the Magnusson Moss act, the part would have to be proven to be the cause. Let's say you have an engine spark issue...they can't say because you have exhaust we won't warranty it. They have to prove it.

Tim is the guy I recommended to have a kit fitted to his car. He's a hilarious guy, always has a million questions but is down for modding his car. His M56 was the one I just did the chains on. He face timed me today to tell me his engine cover was cracked, but didn't realize it had been that way since he bought the car. I get a huge kick out of him for some reason.

Ahh gotcha.

So is Tim in the works of getting R2C to test fit? Or should we switch to hoping our new member Big_Tone gets over there?

Not sure if they're looking for more people, but Tim has done his first test fit and already has his second scheduled.

R2C currently has two M56 cars that they are currently working with. Thank you Blackcat81 for referring Tim to me. Definitely a cool guy to correspond with and I would have to agree that he is a cool character! LOL

The original M56 lives quite a ways from R2C headquarters and graciously made the first trip for the M56 community. By adding Tim's car to the mix this should help R2C with the development on an intake system. :dblthumb:

I'm definitely interested, maybe not right away, but it's definitely a mod I will do...as long it's not like $800 or something stupid like a $2k exhaust lol.

Does anyone know if the car is gonna get dynoed after the intake install to see what difference the intake makes?

Sounds like they are. You can follow one of the two testers, he said he's going to update this thread with the progression on the project:

Yep it gives R2C more time to design and develop an air system while reducing the downtime for the test vehicles in their shop between each phase.

*Update*

Spoke to R2C and they are currently working on with the digital scans and designing the heat shields. Thank you to HDCL (a member over at freshalloy) and Blackcat81 for the referral of another local M56.
