Does anyone have pics of an ABS LSD on a 240 not equiped with ABS. Does it still fit right in. I've tried seaching and have only found things like this: http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/lsd2/index.htm

-"I have heard rumors that the J30 differential requires you to shorten the driveshaft by an inch due to the position of the ABS sensor but my buddy hasn't had any problems with his when he installed it in an S14. It's only been on for 2 weeks and the fit is tight but it works."

No one seems to have pics or know for sure how well it works out. The reason I ask is I picked up a 91 Q45 VLSD w/ ABS with 21k mi on it for 30bucks at a yard (Pulled it myself). It looks like it will work with the right output shafts.

Sorry, no pics.

The Q45 is a larger R230V unit. Wes (Elwesso) mentioned this earlier this week. Ive heard rumors of this fitting in a 240sx, but most say its too big. The Z32 TT uses a R230V and everyone says its too big.

Many people have used the J30 diff with their non VLSD driveshaft without problems. If your really concerned about the extra length of the J30 VLSD, you could use a Z32 NA diff. The Z32 NA diff requires J30 5 bolt axles. (Or you can use 240 VLSD output shafts with you nonVLSD axles, IIRC).

assuming it is an r200v, you have two options. Use the driveshaft from the infinity(if it is shorter), or simply push your driveshaft towards the transmission, eliminating any play, and getting the diff to fit. Many have done this, and apparently there is enough play for it to fit, but IMO, this is bad, because you will be causing alot of extra stress and wear on the transmission and diff.

yeah that gearing would blow. Acceleration would be so bad.

Not if you was puttin' down the powa!

I hear of people doing it all the time without problems. Still kinda scares me a little though.

Yeah, Im personally somewhat worried about the gearing, but not too much. I mostly auto-x the car so think it may help out better in tight course like that were I dont want low gearing. Plus the Silvia K's have a 3.69 so it cant be that bad, (or at least I hope).
