R200v lsd into s13 open diff housing? plzz HELP!!

second post, after more research! I've got an r200v vlsd out of a 5 bolt j30 with axles, flanges and all the mounting gear. I want to build a hybrid diff using my stock s13 open diff housing and combining it with the vlsd&parts. what I need to know is do I use my ring and pinion? do I need to modify anything to do it? from what I've read I am supposed to bolt my s13 ring gear to the vlsd, use my s13 pinion, slide the 5 bolt vlsd axle flanges in, and obviously drop in the lsd...not in that order of courseplease let me know anything that can help. -thanks

ok ok ok.....i have been able to but my j30 vlsd guts into an s13 open diff and it was kinda of a tight squeeze but i got it in and when i try to turn the lsd it felt real tight but i have not got the chance to test it out so if you get it done and you get to test it out before i do then please let me know how it went

I'll be picking the diff N'stuff up in a couple of days and probably start the changeover immediately. and I've decided to post an entire walkthrough pics and all that good stuff. when you did your changeover what part combinations did you use(i.e. bearings, spacers, ring and pinion etc)?? sorry for so many Q's, I have no problem with doing the swap but just want to make sure I have all the parts I need for as little downtime as possible. -thanks

well i just swap everything except for the hard shell. I made sure i kept all of the vlsd guts together during the swap and everything that made it work

mmm, okay. so I know to use all the vlsd parts, but my bigger question is do I use the j30 ring gear and pinion or my s13 set? I've been told to use my ring gear and pinion but I've also been told to combo my pinion with the j30 ring gear..which doesn't sound right..

if you use the j30 ring gear then you need the j30 pinion one too because if you use the s13 pinion then you will have alot of free play which is not good
